Unfortunately received a bottle with poor quality. Minimalist popping of the cork followed by no bubbles at all. In terms of taste, there are orange stone fruit, blood orange, plum, mineral and flint. However, everything drowns in the unpleasant taste of sloppiness and over maturity. Drank the bottle but it was not of good quality.

The nose is explosive on plum, orange peels, then came spices, tobacco and finally a smoky side which will gain momentum with aeration.
The palate is smooth, dense to perfection. Dominant plum at first, mixed with spices. The smoky side will dominate thereafter. Very generous material, the wine lives with aeration and unfolds a whole magnificent palette of aromas, all on a perfectly balanced frame with melted acidity. Final on freshness and dazzling length on smoky flavors.
Great bottle.

Wine Workshop: An evening with Cristal (Atera - 77 Worth Street in NYC): Some more of the darker red fruits again (I guess the 89 slightly different since it didn't have them). Nicely done. This reminded me a bit of the ocean - some saltiness to it and also a nice fresh style. Tasty.

Salmon color. At first this was a little funky and dull on the nose while the palate had tremendous strength and concentration. With time the nose came around with notes of blood orange, wild strawberry and pastry. While the nose was nice, the palate was incredible. Such incredible concentration, persistence, and length. Truly a world class wine. Had the nose been slightly better, it would have been perfect.

Uncorked DK BYO - 85 Cristal Rose, 90 DRC RSV, 90 La Landonne, 82 Mouton and more... (Søllerød Kro): Light peach. Fine and persistent mousse. Delicious nose of raspberries, sour redcurrants, coconut soap and flowers. In the mouth there is more raspberries, bisquits, and with some air sherry and dried orange peel notes. Very intense and very well balanced. One of the top 3 champagnes that I've had.

Opened for the wine group, lovely and lively mousse with lots of tiny bubbles, nose of lemon/cherry tart, wet stones, and allspice, more of the same on the palate, big body, delicious with the baked salmon and smoked salmon, melted like butter on my palate, terrific pinot noir finish-slightly mouth drying, complex, and lingered on my palate.

Great Grapes for a Great Cause SQN Tasting -- 4th Annual; 6/17/2011-6/18/2011 (Mandarin Oriental, Washington DC): outstanding -- still surprisingly youthful with red fruit and a moderate mousse remaining after 25+ years!
