With elk steaks. Very good color nose and palate. This has to soften a bit more. It will live a few more yrs. Very yummy with steak type food. Buy more says the wife.

Pop and pour drinking well right out of the bottle. Upfront lush style, loads of deep strawberry and raspberry with some serious fresh plowed earth. Nice wine, but the earth note is so strong - somewhat offputting.

This wine from Southern Rhone was as long and as bold as its name. This wine was rich and intense from the ruby color to the spices and fruits in the nose and flavor. This Red Rhone Blend had the feeling of a Cab, which is probably why I enjoyed it so much. It had the traditional hits (not hints) of pepper and currant.

Not over the hill yet. It's lost most of the fruit but acid tannin balance remains great. No funk. Still clear. Great with grilled Lamb chops.

Needs decanting. A bit closed initially but after a couple hours open it really began to shine. Excellent pairing with beef bourgognon.
