A nose of dark fruit and spice, dark garnet in color. A full bodied single vineyard Syrah, with blackberries, currants, smoky spice and pepper with a long finish. A great QPR and complex wine.

- Garnet color - Full body. Very ripe. Stewed berry, big alcohol. A bit over extracted and unbalanced but delicious. I was surprised by how nice this was. Wish I had more. Awesome qpr

Good QPR at around $15. At that price I would say this is an interesting wine. This is not the predictable candied Aussie style Syrah, but neither is it a super refined Cali syrah. I would argue this is somewhere in the middle. Nose more muted than the over-the-top fruit bomb, but still not so subtle that you can't tell what you're drinking. I did not expect to like this, but the flavor profile showed some chocolate and plum to offset the brighter fruit, giving it a unique (to me at least) flavor profile that was refreshing. That said, it was still fairly one dimensional, showing nothing new on the mid-to-back palette, hence the at-$15-this-is-a-good-QPR-argument. However, if I had to pick a wine to drink tonight, I would spend a couple of bucks more and opt for Torbreck Woodcutters Shiraz, always well made and has never let me down.

Not as good as the '06, IMO. But then the price is considerably lower. Wonder what that's about. This one just didn't have that full roundness that the '06 had. Not as much varietal character.

Still drinking well and I expect it to hold up for at least another few years.

Dark berries, cocoa, earth and spice. Smooth and velvety; a nice wine.

iconic and typical syrah. nicely balanced with the tannin, fruit and spice you would expect.
