Despite much blog panning of this wine, I brought it and other syrahs to a Saturday syrah/shiraz blind tasting, with initial apologies for what it might present. Much to my surprise, it was popular amongst the 20+ syrahs offered. I brought a small amount home, put it under gas and finished it this evening. Frankly, I would buy more of this for the $12 investment I made 2+ years ago. Perhaps there is wide bottle variation, but this one was a solid 89, IMHO.

Medium ruby with purple rim. Clear and still developing nose with dark berries, hint of tobacco, spices and oak, but after 2h in decanter starts to show more syrah notes; rasberry and black pepper starts to dominate. Pretty acidic wine with ripe medium tannins and almost full bodied palate with typical syrah notes. NIce lenght and finish.

Dark red. Crowberry and cherry on nose and in the mouth. Medium consentration. A rustic wine, with medium pluss acidity.
