Everything I previously wrote, except for the one dimensional bit. This is fantastic now! Amazing how much big fruit is still left after 10 years. everything has come together now to give a beautifully balanced, multi dimensional wine. Simply amazing. And when you consider it was only about $13 a bottle, it should probably get another five stars.

The last bottle is every bit as good as the first. Wish I had more. The flavor notes I mentioned previously (currants and green pepper on the nose, cola on the palate) are still there, and so is some lovely fruit.

Dark and smokey. Alcohol that used to pervade this wine has burned off, revealing a pleasantly rare cool fruit profile that's missing from value wines today. Really nice, glad I had one left. Serve cool.

nice value CV blend that continues to soften, gain a little depth with age. the heat is still there, but blew off pretty quickly. Better on day 2 bodes well, very enjoyable. Nice syrah nose, but a touch oaky for my taste.
Fun and tasty, if a little hotter than I remember. Fun, fruity, and a step above the Supermarket wines. Must let it open up for 30-60 minutes to let the alcohol blow off and the fruit come out. Drink up.

It has a welcoming, very inviting fruit nose. Rich aroma of plum, purple, black and red fruits. Dry on the palate. Very noticeable Syrah. Nicely layered. Good structure and lovely peppery fruit.

Purple with magenta edges. Raspberry jam, cinnamin, and leather nose. Medium bodied, aged cherries, loads of pepper, oak, smoky milk chocolate, a bit of heat, sweet tannins, and a medium finish. Starting to show its age, but still good.

Pop 'n pour, it's got a pretty bold nose, blue and red fruits, I'm getting lots of syrah. Dry and tannic, some oak but not splintery, the alcohol is a bit showy, resulting in an abrupt finish. 2.5+ hrs for the last glass of the bottle and the fruit has come out a bit more, a little caramel as well. Doesn't seem like this has budged at all in the almost year since I last had it, although we didn't really air it out that time, in a social setting. I think the way this developed, and they backbone holds promise for a better future, especially considering the price.

Tasting more and more tired as time goes on. Less oak in this one than others, but kind of a strange flint meets berry syrup layer with not a lot on the finish.

This blend has equal parts of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah, then about 11% of Cab Franc. Aroma of some tobacco with dark blue fruit, some mocha, and oak. Mouth feel is rich, acidic and tannic, a bold feel. Lots of plum and oak, with a mix of spice and floral notes. After several days open (vacu-sealed and stored in frig over nights) this was better behaved. Too much going on in this one, the Syrah and Cab Franc detract, IMHO, or there needs to be a better focus. If you love very rich and heavy wines, this is a good candidate.

really really good. lively red fruits with dark red fruits ad some oak tannins. Ripe style, but good balance. Even if it's a little hot at first, I know it opens out beautifully over a couple of hours, and the alcohol touches go away. Smooth tannins beautifully behind the fruit and fine acid. Two- or three-dimensional rather than ten-, but definitely better than your average bottle

Slow ox'd two hours. Nose of nail polish remover and blackberries. Decent fruit at first, but when you spend your time trying to analyze if the bitter finish is from alcoholic heat, the VA obvious on the nose, or both you quickly realize what a waste of time it is.
On first opening the nose is dark red berry and fruit with notes of pepper, smoke and peat. Dark cherry palate with tart cedar cherry pit overtones and a olive pit finish.
After two hours of air the wine has opened up and has more body, but still quite green. The nose has lots of dark fruit, currant, smoke and light notes of peat bog and the palate is fuller with deep black cherry, currant and hints of cola. There are still some overtones of green pepper and olive that just don't seem to want to go away, even on day number two.

Nose is clean medium and youthful. It has fruit character, stem and a touch of barrel.
Palate is dry, medium acidity, medium - tannins (just a touch of stem), medium alcohol and has medium body weight and flavor. Flavors are fruit and oak derived. As a note does not show varietal character. Length is medium.
Overall the it is good quality, works at $14 as a blend. My personal wish is that it was a bit more "bordeaux" focused.

Don't let this warm up; don't let it decant; serve it at cellar temperature. It'll be rich with thick red fruit and supporting tannins. It will approach a target box wine if you let it get too much air, but keep it a bit cool and before too much burns off and this is an astoundingly good wine.

Still tight and astringent wine, but in my side-to-side vinturi test, there is surprisingly little difference. The vinturi wine is slightly smoother but no real change in aromas or flavour profiles.
Still nice and will evolve as in previous bottles, I think. Cocoa and green pepper now with some spice and berry hiding in the back.

Dark dark bing cherry red. Very odd nose: earthy, but in a funky way. Lots of wood too. Let's call it a mushroom farm on a pile of oak sawdust with alcohol poured over the lot. Hard to smell anything else. Flavor is big and fairly one dimensional too. Dark fruits, mostly plummy, with high acid. Somewhat chalky mouth feel. Better in combination with good dark chocolate! Wish I had a big juicy sirloin though.

Wait a few minutes, or decant / Vinturi it before trying, and it goes from closed and nothingness to zippy fruity excellence within ten or fifteen minutes. Keep aerating it in your glass if can't decant, as I did taking this to a restaurant with no licence. Amazing affter 30-60 minutes. Dark fruits, blackberries, blueberries, loganberries, but still lively and zippy as if it's a Zin. GGreat balance and melee of flavours there, and all my neighbours (even the non-wine connoisseurs) wanted more of mine compared to what they had. single Pinots were very drab and flat compared with this.
No great individual character in the fruit taste, morre an explosion, due to the equal blending, but that is the point of this wine.
So great life on the palate upfront, good body, (nicely purple, with legs), and a medium decent finish, with unexpected fruit changes.
Buy this both for fun and for eating with medium to heavy meals as it'll kick into touch most of anything else at $15-20 in your local store.

Pop & pour: nice combo of dark fruit and vegetal aromas. Deep purple colour. A swirl brings out the heat on the nose. It's not there in the mouth though. Nice mouth feel, moderate tannin that's pretty smooth already. Not a lot of fruit on the palate, but a nice long finish. The flavour isn't great off the bat.
After even just a couple minutes the wine is opening up and the fruit is showing up. Darker fruits both on the nose and palate. It's evolving nicely and I think in 20-30 min it'll be great.
This is great at the woot price.

A tad dark at first, but not surprisingly, it's a cherry red, clear and unclouded. Nose has the normal red fruity strawberry twizzler, but good red brick, no oak. Taste is borderline fruit bomb, but dry, so it's not like candy. This wine will offend no one. It isn't a highly tannic disaster until it's 10 years old, and it isn't a gobs of fruit and sugar mess today. Very good wine, great value.
I haven't let it sit out, but I'm going to guess that time doesn't help this. Don't let it decant. A spin through the vinturi, perhaps, but don't come back two hours later and expect to find much.

I really quite like this. The Cab Franc makes its presence delightfully known (is it Brett? is it Franc?) and the Syrah adds a nice extra coat of fruit and softer tannins that make this wine quite approachable and impressively not-astringent for no older than it is. Leather, smoky oak, dried fruits and some chocolate in this one, for me. I find the oak a bit unusual (is it American?) but not unusual in a bad way if that makes any sense -- just not quite what I'm used to.
This wine makes a strong case for the value wine segment coming out of Washington; with many more bottlings like this on offer from WA, this economic downturn could be a real bonus for them, as Bordeaux varieties from California will certainly have a hard time competing at $20 and under if this is at all representative. Strong QPR -- recommended!

Cherry and leather on the nose and front. The flavor of the Merlot leads off, buttressed by the structure of the cab. The finish is long and the wine is well balanced throughout. This is a very good Bordeaux-ish blend w/ the Syrah adding a touch of spice in there. Good wine and an especially good QPR play, 4 of 5 on the QPR scale at woot prices (13.75).

Smooth & buttery on my first glass. Slight spice on the aftertaste. Strangely I liked my first glass better than my later glasses.
