Pepper and cherry tones... Letting decant for a bit before we have more. Hopefully didnt open this one past prime. T + 45 minutes, it has mellowed a bit. A great wine to start the evening, wish we had another one!

Very deep maroon - big, oaky, plummy black fruit nose - smooth, plush palate - chocolate, creme de cassis, - very tasty, but near the end of the bottle, it was getting a bit tiring, with too much oak and alcohol - depends if you like the style or not. Drink up.

Consumed on Easter, 2010. I remember to this day purchasing this wine directly from Mr. Smith at his Walla Walla winery--Credence blasting while tasting. Still a good wine. Lot's of cherry, blackberry, and a little plum. 20% syrah was not overpowered by the 80% Cab. A good wine. I wouldn't wait much longer to drink.

Some big cherries on the nose from En Cerise vineyard as well as olive, smoke, plums, and caramel. The cherries carried over to the palate as well as the olives. Tasted like a mellow Syrah except for the green pepper on the mid. Fairly short finish and med low acidity. Gained points for how well it well with lamb Moroccan stew. The cinnamon and curry brought out the earthiness on the wine along with the sweet cherries. Good wine but not worth the $$ on this one.

Huge oak, almost offensive out of the bottle. With time it mellowed, good balance. Solid fruit and an interesting combo of varietals. The 20% syrah dominates the flavor profile of the 80% cab. Overall a very good bottle...

We found the Ovide surprsingly oaky on the nose with a bit of an overwhelming aroma of vanilla. In the mouth, the wine was relatively fruit forward. While nicely balanced, it didn't have that higher level of acidity and crispness I'm used in Washington reds. However, overall it's drinking quite well at the moment. Not sure I would leave this that much longer.

Blackberry and plum dominate the palate of this wine, accompanied by baking spice, green herb/bell pepper and mint. Subtle cinnamon-like tannins round out the mouth feel. Drinking perfectly right now and likely for the next year but perhaps not much longer.

Rich and dark in the glass. Plum, vanilla, creme brulee and baking spice round out the palate from a promising bell plus black peppery (& minty!) yet slightly alcoholic nose. Pleasurable finish with notes of licorice and a slight loamy quality. Not sure what will happen to this years hence but I'm enjoying finding out.

Full black fruit, plenty of baking spice and some herbs. Drinking well and likely at peak. Pretty lush but interesting enough.

Still quite alive from magnum. Some green pepper notes are present which I don't entirely care for.

Give it a few hours in the decanter to mellow out the green peppers and you will be rewarded with a pretty good wine.
