Difficult to judge this one. Delicious tertiary Pinot Noir aromas in the raspberry direction, and some wood. Light, tight and tart on the palate. Seems like there could be more to gain in the future, but the wine is now very restrained and lacks both generousity and the quality one should expect from an Amoureuses. There was almost no sediments, so maybe hard filtration is the problem. Then 2008 is not an easy and giving vintage either.

Dufter av pepperkaker, kirsebær og plomme. Frisk i munnen, god syre som er avrunda og fin, men totalt sett er vinen tynn og enkel for nivået. Ok lengde på ettersmaken, men den er relativt enkel, med plommer og syre.

Very pale, nice on the nose with some hints of it’s terroir... Strawberry, some spices, anis and celery. More disappointing in the mouth, quite thin/diluted? But, some quality remains. It feels like a shadow of it’s terroir, in a way. It is there, but still far away. Time in the glass/open bottle helps, but only to a certain degree. A bad bottle, or is it over the edge?

Bringebær, krydderkake, hint av rips. Syrlig anslag i munnen. Ganske lett vin, ikke helt den fruktfylden man håper på i en amoureuses. Lang og syrlig ettersmak.

Cellaraid Grand Tasting and Burgundy Dinner (La Pepa): pale garnet; pronounced nose, acidic, tannins quite low, medium bodied, warm, pretty intense; orange, strawberry, cedar, grass, brine, stone, tea leaves; best to consume now

Light, elegant, focus with fine acidity and minerality. Lacking on fruit concentration as compared with the 2013 vintage. Lovely and a pleasure to drink.

Absolutely stunning aromatics. Red fruited. Rose petals. Intense. The palate is not yet complete. Beautiful red fruit. Wonderful finish that lingers. This is just starting to hit the early drinking area. More complexity with time but I doubt it will be more satisfying.

I must say I am a bit dispointed with this wine. I expected so much more. This wine might be in a fase and a bit shut down, because it didn't perform as it should. Today it was mere a Village and not a premier cru exceptionel.
Good acidity though. The fruit was dominated by lingonberries. With time kumin hardbread, shrimpshells and even some fudge appeared. A bit thin, but ok leangth.
I would recommend some more years in the cellar. This wine seem to be shut down at the moment. Wait at least until 2016.

Seductive nose of red berries, orange zest, and florals. This was young but very enjoyable. Fairly light-bodied with a lacy texture and good fruit/acid balance, this was an elegant expression of Amoureuses.

Alex & Fiona's Soft-Launch (AMK 10): Very good stuff. Second time out with this wine, blind again, this was so distinctive that I was quite sure it could not be anything but a François Bertheau Amoureuses. However, this bottle seemed to be going through a little awkward stage and, while still excellent, lack something of the brilliant cohesiveness of the last time round. I called it a 2006 rather than an 2008 on that basis. Poured out from a decanter after half-an-hour of air, it had a mindblowing nose - beautiful, complex, seductive, with curls of red fruits - sweet red cherries, almost maraschino-like, then raspberries and strawberry with just the lightest touch of jamminess - all nicely lifted by fresh, stalky notes of fresh cut flower aromas dancing on a little backdrop of spice and mineral. Wow, what a nose! The palate came across rather younger, more primary, but so good as well, with the loveliest balance and purity to its sweet red fruited flavours of ripe cranberries, redcurrants and strawberries on the attack. Past that, a little more development showed on the midpalate, with the red fruited primariness ceding the ground to juicier notes of preserved sour plums and sour cherries wrapped in the silkiest of tannins. There was decent enough depth on the wine to mark it at least as a 1er Cru, but this was clearly not a wine of great substance or power - instead, it was all about trannsparent purity and silky, sexy, seductiveness. It finished as it began, with a juicy, open mouthfeel, where the red fruited flavours were kissed by a peck of orange peel, gentle floral notes and, finally, the very lightest hint of oak. Not the longest finish I thought initially, nor the most serious. However, with more time and air, the wine seemed to stretched its legs and lengthen out. The fruit showed less sweet, saline mineral and little spicy motes emerged to take their place on the back-palate, and a rather more austere, stiffer backbone showed up. This will probably not be the longest aging Les Amoureuses, but it is a quintessential expression of the terroir - a really lovely, seductive wine. Rather in flux at the moment I thought, but give it 6-8 years, and it should be glorious.

Very light color. Nice, but not very open nose to beguine with. After a while some notes of flowers, cherries and a sweetness came along. The wine was a little shut down, but had nice, clean fruitiness and allot of acidity in it.

Burgundy 2011 Day 4: The Big Dinner aka Singapore Night in Burgundy (Baubigny): I loved this wine. What a bouquet here - almost like liquified flowers, with pure violet scents mixed in with cherry flesh and sweet strawberry aromas in a heady swirl of deep, yet somehow lifted aromas. This was pure perfume, incredible, seductive stuff. The palate had such wonderful tension and nervosity too, with tingly acidity running through a mouthfull of naturally sweet flavours - pure, high-toned sour plums, cherries and strawberries, lovely stuff sashaying its way into a long finish with a haunting linger of fine tannins and a final kiss of strawberries. Not quite Grand Cru depth, but certainy no lack of concentration either. This was not a perfect, it seemed to miss a beat every now and then, but it was seductive, so haunting, so feminine. Like a beautiful woman that you know will not be good news - flawed, but incredibley alluring. Wow.

Tasted blind. Very light color here, brown hue. Light but a bit diluted on the palate. The lovely tertiary aromatics are better than the mouth feel.
