  • This was a beauty. Much better than the 2 previous bottles tasted, which is to be expected, at 70 years of age. But you know they say, the third time is a charm, and they right with this one. Round, plummy, earthy and loaded with truffle and cigar, some sweetness of fruit remained in the soft, supple finish.

  • Better on the nose, with its truffle, earth, tobacco and bright red fruit character, than on the metallic, earthy, sweet and tart, (More tart than sweet) red berry finish. The tannins were slightly rustic in the finish. This is not a wine I'd be holding for it's 100th anniversary. Fun to taste, but not a vintage I'd seek out at auction, based on this bottle.

  • Drank this stunning wine against Beauregard 1948 in April 2015 (Beauregard 94/100) mid schoulder level, cork ok, from a private champagne cellar in Reims.

This was playing on all senses, should add 2 points considering the aged, so so so good - if you can find ok stored excamples ... Buy it !!!
