Surprisingly enough, this bottle (mid shoulder fill) still needed about 30-60 minutes to fully open. But when it did, we were treated to an elegant wine, certainly about its tertiary notes now but still with a pure vein of raspberry running through it. Sous-bois, old chesterfields, etc. Thanks Jude!

Light but warm reddish brown, mahogany rim; the nose is old, rusty, wet gravel, no oxidation or decay but hollow, with only hints of cedar, fruit and tobacco; dried out but not sharp or acidic, austere, tannic, bone-dry; very long finish. Hard work.
