This bottle really surprised. Nothing flawed or tired about it at 28. Aired briefly and it was quickly open for biz. Balance, medium body, no fruit left but good core. Much enjoyed

Didn’t expect much here. But this bottle was actually pretty decent from the get go. Solid aged Italian wine that held up for 3hrs (slow ox). Pleasantly surprised.

Need to rebel from the 100 point system I succumb to rate this wine Great wine. If you like napa or tuscany cab buy this wine. Open it and what cold region bordeauxa varietials can. Do

My second bottle of this vintage was different from the first one. This one still had a bit of red fruit left and was not so rusty in flavor. It was also too acidic, to the point of me wondering if it had somewhat vinegarized. Not really enjoyable, but some others at my table still seemed to enjoy it over the entry level restaurant bottle it was competing with.

Expectations were low given the notes of others. But all round our table really enjoyed this wine. Well aged with secondary notes but retaining core, good color in glass and complexity en bouche. A pleasure, but one not to delay. Will proceed to enjoy the others and hope that bottle variation doesn't mar the experience

Smells like varnish but tastes good. Super mature something, my bottle was brown around the rim, brick red in the center. Sherry nose, on the palate it was light bodied, balanced, mature red fruits with occasional hints of raisin. Clean finish. Definitely drink ASAP but still enjoyable "enough".
Second day shot.

A deep ruby with only the slightest orange bricking around the rim. The 1995 Yngram lifts up to display dried black cherries, licorice, rich, savory exotic spices with hints of soy and leather revealing its age. It’s lusciously soft, still showing a pleasant sweetness to its fruit, yet beyond the dark plums and currants up front, it becomes slightly stewie with nervous acids, hints of sour citrus and dank minerals toward the close. It tapers off a bit short to rosy inner florals and earth tones, leaving the palate fresh with just a hint of sour wild berries. Unfortunately, this is well past its prime and on the decline.

Sour, funky, slightly oxidized and just weird. Would not have thought cab tasting blind. Not sure what it was supposed to taste like but probably not like the way it did.

If you like mature wine, this was certainly for you. Lots of things going on - bell pepper, forest floor, leather, stewed dark fruit. Still dark despite the expected bricking. I'd recon this is a craps shoot depending on the bottle with a wine this age, but I did enjoy it with a big bowl of orecchiette with broccoli rabe and sausage on a cold February evening.

Got three bottles from Garagiste; two had disintegrating corks and were clearly beyond their prime. The cork of the third bottle looked sketchy but came out clean and the wine was stellar after half an hour (though still strong notes of leather leaning toward neoprene)

This is a beauty. The top of the cork was dark, quite dry and might have had a touch of fungus. I was worried it would disintegrate on the way out, but the lower ⅔ of the cork was in great condition. The wine was rust brown in color, very little red left. The taste was complex, balanced and lovely. Not much fruit left. It had not just a touch of brine, strongly reminding me of an amontillado sherry. In fact, I could not have blind tasted this as a cab. Acidity and tannins were present and balanced. I will be excited to open my next bottle with other friends who can appreciate such an experience as this unusual bottle.

Top of the cork was perfect, but over half of it was soaked through. Very tart out of the bottle but with air became more generous. Roasted walnuts, black pepper, cassis. Sour finish hot with alcohol and strong wood. This is the only bottle I've tasted but I'll say past its prime. Still, interesting to drink and not without pleasure. Glad I bought one but not more.

Solid aged Italian. A bit lean. 12.5% abv. Probably better a few years ago. Drink up.

This one was pretty harsh, turpentine note is overwhelming - maybe a bad bottle given other notes.

Drinkable but nothing more. Oxidized flavors overwhelm any previous glory...

Oxidized. Nothing on the nose except oxidation. Palate suggests that it might have been good five years ago.

Bought from Garagiste, but was refunded before shipping due to multiple complaints from others regarding current condition. Future buyers beware.
