So good, and everything you want from mature, classic red burgundy. Elegant and complex, this shows no hints of over-ripeness or other ill effects from the vintage. Ready to go any time, though certainly has plenty of life left.

Far more impressive than my last and recent note. Still has a touch of tannin but a powerful and rich red fruit note has emerged. No meat, no beef. The finish is, however, still not fully realized because of the tannin. One bottle left.

Still nicely alive, but not for much longer. On the elegant pure red fruit side and nicely so. Fine as far as it goes, but there should be a bit more stuffing here.

Popped and poured. This bottle showed much better than a previous tasting last year. Deep, cherry, plum and fig nose, with some sous bois elements. The nose is showing some of the over ripe characteristics of the vintage, but overall very alluring. The palate is in an early maturity phase, soft and silky but still showing some ripe fruit and grip. Best of a flight consisting of 76 Jadot BM, 78 Jadot CV, and 83 Lignier CdlR.

A little disappointing compared to the nice showing last time I had this. A little (non-cork) mustiness on the nose instead of the crystalline fruit I would have hoped for. The bottle may have seen some heat at some point in it's life.

There’s a strong scent of camphor and pine needles. It breathes to show ripe plums and some dried fig and raisins. It is earthy and sweet with some blood notes. It is full and generous and perhaps just a little blocky. Good but not great Bonnes Mares.

belated bday dinner for ESTEELE90 (Kali Restaurant, Los Angeles, CA): light ruby color. Nose earthy. Palate earthy cherries, some sappy intensity to the fruit still though perhaps on a slight downslope from peak? 90 pts

Nice fully mature GC burgundy. Ripe, but doesn't show the overt roasted character or heaviness of some of the other '90s.
