  • From memory.

Gorgeous golden color with a fine, prickly mousse. Nice balanced tension between dessert aromas and flavors (crème brulee, lemon cream, biscotti) and entree fare (sauteed mushrooms). Also just delicious.

Many thanks to Scott and Julianna for sharing this.

  • Nothing like my previous bottle on 4/28/15. I don't think age has improved this, I believe previous bottle was of questionable quality.

Medium golden color with strong bubbles; this wine's patina is just showing with red apple, cinnamon aromas; crisp acidity with flavors of apple, lemon, toast, and cinnamon. Very enjoyable.

This shined with Water Grill's fish 'n chips.

  • Disgorged 2010. Pale straw. A freshness on the nose, and a surprising density on the mid palate, very vinous. There’s a serious wine here. Quite broad, but with some depth and a reasonable line. Interesting. Initially underestimated this — still going strong after two days with a nicely spicy red apple fruit and vinous depth. ****

  • Past its prime. My fault. Tired bubbles, slightly oxidized look, nose and palate. However, you could tell there it was a nice sparkler at one time.

  • According to the label, nearly equal parts of: Arbane, Petit Meslier, Pinot Meuneir, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Pinot Blanc.

Such a savory nose with bread and mushroom and some other mystery aroma (herbal?); very dry austere body with flavors of unripe Meyer lemon and substantial chalkiness. Definitely not a crowd pleaser but a drink for the disciple of wine.

The jury is out on this wine for me. I'm not sure what the dosage level is but I'm guessing mighty low. I have had and enjoyed some Brut Nature wines but this seems like a touch more sugar would up the complexity and balance of this wine. Bottle was not very effervescent at 10yrs of age and I'm wondering if this is a candidate of long term cellaring. I am happy to have another bottle but not disappointed to not have a case of this.

  • Excellent Champagne, beautifully aged, rich, balanced, dosage super well intergrated, hints of oxidation but so good

Conc: this was a stellar Champagne one that was new to me makes it even better

  • Farge: Gylden / gull.

  • Very heavy and complex on the nose and palate. This champagne commands attention. Some may not like it for its flavor profile, but there is no question it is a complex champagne that could develop over the years. My one concern is the lack of bubbles. If the bubbles are less than lively now, where will they be in a couple years? I will be curious to see how my other bottle will develop in two years or so.

  • Delicious, creamy, classic notes: toast, apple, vanilla-laced spices. Complexity and depth. Lower acidity, nice texture, and excellent length. Won't replace Ruinart for us in this general price range, but I'll be happy to drink it any time.

  • Surprisingly good! Vanilla, bisquit and citrus on the nose. Nice volume in the mouth. Quite sophisticated and a long finish.

  • Had this after a Champagne flight at Cork Wine Bar in DC and as good as some of the champagnes were in the flight, this blew them away. A delicate champagne that was nonetheless powerful, complex and...impish. Almost every sip gave up another facet of the wine. We couldn't agree on what we were tasting...I said that it was a mix of very subtle chocolate cherries with a touch of cinnamon or some other spicy taste, loads of fruit and structure. Wonderful wine.

  • Medium lemon green.
Nose suggest that this has a pretty high dosage with ripe fruit aromatic profile combined with weird notes of flowers and greenness.
On the palate there continues the ripe fruit flavor with thick and a bit sour acidity. Nicely balanced so that the austere dosage doesn't shine through too much. A good wine but shapeless. Mousse is creamy and alcohol level sticks out a bit. But a champagne with rich texture and pretty high body and long length
