With enough air, this opens into a pretty wine featuring lots of bitter cherry, oolong tea, and some pronounced earthiness. Just the vaguest hint of Pinot sweetness to the fruit. Medium finish with plenty of 08 acid. Good wine, but imho it would benefit from just a little more fleshiness. Hold, or decant for at least an hour.

Nose is kind of murky, not giving up much. But still a beauty on the palate. Light bodied and nice sticky cherry flavors. Not sure if this will be long lived, acidity poking out more than bottles drunk earlier in its lifespan.

Ruby and garnet hued. Bright and acidic. It's a little funky, though not in a bad way. A $30 bottle of wine from Burgundy doesn't get any better than this. This one is alive and well.

Haunting aromas of truffles, dark cherry liqueur and strawberry twizzlers and funk. Plenty of life left, very savory on the palate with tannins cinching at the end. Check back in around 2018. Could be a beauty in the vein of Ecard.

Medium color for a burgundy. Nose of tart cherries, forest floor and olives. Medium acidity, flavors consistent with the nose with a little minerality added. Not as complex and concentrated as I would have hoped for a premier cru. Tannins were firm and dominated the finish, overpowering any fruit that may have wanted to linger. Maybe the tannins will be a little better integrate in a year or two.

It has really improved and opened since I tasted it 2 years ago. Well integrated and smooth.

really terrific and expressive with a good dose of Burg characteristics like savory spice and dark red fruit.

Thin, with little personality. A big disappointment as I am a big Vergelesses fan. Will seek out better vintages or different producers.
