Rich nose of lemon curd and peachy fruit, wool, maccadamia, bread and slight touch of Asian spice. Dry and balanced palate with smooth moussé opening up to nice citrusy bitterness. Toasty notes of bread and nuts from the mid-palate on. Rather dry in the long minerally finish. Delicious stuff.

Non-blind. Served immediately. Elegant and slender with everything in place. Stunning for the price! Spanish theme wine dinner @ home with very good friends.

Tooch's Goodbye Tasting (Ripple - Cleveland Park - Washington, DC): This was the first vintage-dated Cava I've ever had, and I was really impressed by it. It showed a lot of biscuity aromas, along with lemons, pistachios and a hint of balsamic as well. Tangy palate with razor-like acid, but it's still quite full. Lots of lime, chalk and a flavor that reminds me of a green olive. Long finish. The bubbles dissipated quite quickly, but it was still a solid Cava.

Pale golden color, plenty of bubbles. On nose apple, pastry, candy. On palate bubbles/carbonic quite well integrated. Smooth, initially dry but a tad sweet finish, almonds, medium finish. A good cava, good qpr.

Heredia Tasting; 5/7/2012-5/8/2012 (Palena, Washington, DC): Nose was a little shy with minerals, and chalk showing.
Palate of lemon, furry minerals, really nice chalk
Nice cut too, really solid for the price.

Going Away Dinner @ Ripple (Ripple - Cleveland Park, Washington, D.C.): This was my first vintage Cava. Had more complexity and depth to it than any Cava I've had before. Nice spring herbs, lots of citrus with and underlying creaminess. Very nice.

Really nice cava, more punch than most, but lots of minerality and nuts showing as well.

Nose has yeast and citric fruits
Bice acidity and great length.
Notes of wood on the finish
Very good

Still young, not bad but I was expecting more.
