Rich pineapple and lychee aromas that filled the room, effusively fruity palate and a mature, smoky finish to this delectable Gewurztraminer. My last bottle, and what a way to go. Luscious!

A mature example from an early maturing vintage, this shows plenty of pineapple and lychee, but it's a bit toasty around the edges and the rose petal is nowhere to be smelled. Still a pretty fun drink, as Gewürztraminer always is, but lacks freshness. Drink soon.

This impressed the group. Brilliant yellow gold. Bouquet of violets, though likely more subdued than in its youth. honeycomb notes with evident effervescence on the palate. Elements of petrol, stone fruit, raisin, saffron, and hints of bitter stem. Shows its age, but is indeed lively and could stand more cellaring for show...not likely to mature further before death.

From 375:Good nose, good acidity a bit lacking in extraction. Ok but have had much better efforts from this producer. Drink now, don't age preferably as an aperitif rather than dessert

Fantastic. Classic Gewurz aromatics of rosewater, spice, exotic tropical fruits and honeyed elements; rich and layered in the mouth with great balance, surprisingly good acidity (for a Gewurz) balancing the sweetness and keeping it very drinkable.

Absolutely beautiful in the glass with a deep golden-brown color. The complex nose is more than giving with much sweet fruit, honey, spice, and flowers. Concentrated, rich palate balanced with great acidity. Wish it had been a 750 ml.

61st B'day dinner in Wellfleet. Nice match with cheese. One half bottle purchased at the winery, one local. The Winery one was sweeter and had more of a GW bitterness at the end, and I preferred the locally purchased one. Both were good, varietal but not to a fault, rich, decent acid to give balance, and excellen match with Meunster and other cheeses.

Carrie's Birthday! (Le Bec Fin Philadelphia): A concentrated bomb. Deeper dark brownish yellow color. This was excellent. Sweet brown sugar, smoke, apricot, caramel and vanilla. Concentrated, thick and rich. Impressive complexity. Great melding of flavors with a good concentrated finish.

Deep golden yellow; floral nose hinting at sweetness. Rich and rounded entry, sweet. Good fruit and some minerality. Doesn't have the slightly metallic finish gewurt sometimes gives me. Nicely mineral finish. Very good and an excellent match for foie gras. ***

In line with previous notes. Still hanging in with great acidity keeping order. Love the lychees and spice.

Fragrant, nice legs. While the 2000 vintage is very good, I prefer the 1998 vintage.

with B&R served with cheese before dinner. As always, delicious. Varietal but not over the top, sweet and rich and a bit unctuous.

Floral and spicy on the nose. Honeyed fruits and waxy. Not too sweet with tons of acidity still showing.

A private lunch (Restaurant De Zwethheul **, Schipluiden, Netherlands): Restrained, tight style, firm acidity, roses rather than lychees, minerally depth and elegant bitters, great with cheese.
