Still drinking well, but may be nearing the end of its life. I don't know much about aged white Bordeaux, but I know this one seems to be losing its 'pop'.

Appearance: Bright and clear, with medium intensity lemon colour, watery rims and legs Nose: Clean, with medium (+) intensity and youthful aromas of white flowers like honeysuckle and hawthorn, some herbaceous notes of grass, ample of fruity notes including apple, lime, grapefruit and hints of peach. Palate: Dry, with medium (+) acidity and medium alcohol. Medium in body with medium (-) intensity flavors of lime, grapefruit, apple, almond and hints of apricot, with a finish of medium (-) length. Conclusion: Good quality mid-priced Bordeaux white with a fruity and fairly intense nose, showing typical Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon characters and refreshing acidity. However, the palate is comparatively weak and only having a fairly short length. Nevertheless still enjoyable and good value for money. Ready to drink now and not intend for further ageing.

Nice dry white Bordeaux with decent finish - green apple, grapefruit and lime leaf with medium body. 40% Sauvignon Blanc, 40% Semillion & 20% Muscadelle. Great for the price point. While certainly a refreshing summer evening option as an apertif as suggested in other notes, it is also robust enough to complement a fall/winter meal of roast chicken, too.

Just bought a few cases of this at 5.45 euro a bottle, straight from the Belgian wineshop who is a co-owner of the chateaux (thet need to make room for the 2010 that's coming and which will better). Good basic white bordeaux blend with less acidity than I like but excellent value at 5.45 euro. Must be drunk young.

The 2009 Chateau Lamothe has a very primal nose with lime leaf, green apple, a touch of almond and apricot. Very tight but unwinding nicely in the glass. The palate has a great thread of tension running through it, racy acidity, taut and tensile, orange zest and apricot towards the finish. This displays a commendable level of pure botrytis with very fine balance and verve. A great wine from Lamothe.
Mainly Sauvignon Blanc, this wine is perfectly balanced by Sémillon and Muscadelle. This blend, based on ancient tradition, is rare in Bordeaux these days. Traditional winemaking and barrel-ageing on the lees for about 3 weeks, which makes the wine round, smooth, and fruity. This wine is best enjoyed young as an aperitif and with smoked fish, shellfish, salads, or goat cheese and pairs well with fish and oysters. Refreshingly acidic and pleasantly fruit-forward, Chateau Lamothe de Haux Blanc also makes an excellent aperitif.
Best enjoyed young (within 2 years of the vintage).

2009 Beaujolais: Very pleasant white. Golden in color. The nose has seltzer, slightly grassy, and white grape fruit. On the palate, white grape fruit. Nothing profound here but easy sipping. Would have been nice over the summer.

Good good color, not deep but saturated to the edge. Nose very much of peaches and cream, a bit green and stale on the palate - unfortunately really none of the freshness of the nose, nice peach finish. Rather put off by the palate, which is a shame as the other components are a good example of cheap, white, young Bordeaux. Perhaps a bit thin for the acidity.
1.5/5 unfortunately, because the nose is rather nice

A blend of Sauvignon Blanc (40%), Sémillon (40%), and Muscadelle (20%), but the SB dominates the blend. Lemon/lime nose with strong acidity on the palate, along with grass on the short finish. Full bodied and not at all shy. I tend to like acidic wines but this is a bit sour, probably would be better with a few more months in the bottle. Still nice as the weather gets warmer.

40% semillon, 40% sauv blanc 20% muscadet blend; according to the winemaker the muscadet has lower acidity to bring balance, the semillon gives it flesh. Because of the vintage, shows structure and higher than average alcohol. A good basic white Bordeaux; smooth. 85-87

The nose is heavily driven by the Semillon. It's crisp, juicy and well balanced. Good acid and great fruit throughout. Very nice.

Acidic. Flowery taste that borders on unpleasant. Not bad, but not a clear buy again.
