  • We had this for our Anniversary. I have been cellaring it for about 10 years. It did not disappoint. Extremely full bodied for a Niagara wine. It is drinking beautifully right now.

  • Bright red cherry colour with slight bricking at the rim. Lighter nose than the 2006 and 2008 vintages. A slightly lighter (in comparison to other vintages) 16.3% alcohol by volume. There's considerable dried fruit like previous vintages, but much more oak influence shows through compared to those previous vintages. Vanilla, cocoa, and espresso appear with some cedar and smoke notes as well. Tannins are grippy and lend to the structured nature of the wine. The 2007 could use a little more time to develop to its full potential. In a word, wow!

  • Liked this a lot. Rich body with just a bare hint of CFs green and tight drama. Roast vegetal sweet. Good fruit and a soft finish with a definite take another sip call. Very good.

  • Disappointed once again. The wine is ok, but definitely not worth $110...There's not much complexity and depth...just sweet with raisiny aromas...hopefully the other top cuvées are better.

  • Not as good as what I was expecting. The color is low intensity with sweet tobacco, raisins and celery juice aromas. Sweet on the palate, again with celery juice aromas...a bit disturbing. I wouldn't buy again...finish third out of 4 wines after Pegau cuvee Reserve 2010 and Domus Aurea 2008. Last position was La Stella Maestoso 2011 - just because it was too young.

  • The incredible body and complexity of this wine are thanks to 100% of the grapes used undergoing 103 days of drying or appassimento. Subtle nuances of marzipan and ginseng are present amongst a back drop of sour cherry, cocoa, coffee and leathery notes. Christmas cake and brandy-chocolate are framed by a wonderfully balancing acidity, leading to a fantastic, round and supple finish. The depth and intensity in this wine will only improve it with age! It is an excellent match for grilled or roasted meat and game prepared with stewed fruit or compotes, as well as with full flavored cheeses and chocolate.
