Interesting! Two days ago the wine seemed tired, slightly stewed at a tasting. All gone today, comes in with plenty of vibrant red fruit, garrigue, some crushed rocks. Medium bodied, good acid, pleasant mouthfeel, touch of tannins on the finish. One doesn't eat the sediment, but there was plenty in the bottle (really bitter:).

I had my expectations about this being over the hill but I was wrong. Almost fully developed nose with bruised strawberry, dried cherry, decaying leaves, dried garrigue herbs, smoked meat, tar and forest floor.
Really smooth on the palate where tannins are completely melted down. Medium(+) body and medium acidity. Decent intensity of flavors and no hollow parts through out the finish. Solid wine at €12. Drink now.

This wine features remarkable quality...surprisingly so considering the vintage. Deep purple core, showing no signs of age. Attractive, attention grabbing bouquet of dark fruits and berries, spice, graphite, and minerality; it reminded me of the 2008 Celler Malondro Montsant Besllum's bouquet. This is one of those special offerings that provides tremendous pleasure at every point of the palate. The focused attack transitions into an exceptionally pleasing and wonderfully balanced mid-palate chock-full of minerality and dark fruit. The back and finish develop secondary and tertiary elements, barnyard, crushed rocks, ores, Mediterranean cooking spices, olive tapenade, sanguinity, etc., that do not quit. This was followed by a 2010 E. Guigal Côtes du Rhône that I scored at 91 but was not as good as this. 92-93.

Had expected more. A bit too much baked fruit and alcohol heat for me (which isn't offset by anything). I have two more bottles so we'll see if they're any different. Not bad, but definitely not memorable or special IMO.

This bottle didn't do it for me even though I tend to enjoy 2008 rhones. Just short and one dimensional - showing also a touch of heat. Followed over 5 hours or so and didnt pick up any improvement.

Savory nose with eastern spices. This juice is no slouch for the price--hits you with tannins and finishes long. Varietally correct. I wish I had more than this one bottle.

Very enjoyable, but not quite as dood as my prior bottle. Fruit had less depth and wine was less blanced. Still, plenty of pleasure for $12. No complaints. This bottle seems to confirm my initial impression that this is a wine best consumed in the near future.

Very tasty CDR. Maybe not the equivalent of this bottling in better years but still a wine that give a lot of pleasure. Dark and red fruits with a touch of iron and spice. Medium + weight. Did fall off on Days 2 and 3. Probably good idea to drink up stash in the next 18 months or so.

See BBOY's notes. This is just an all around winner at this price. Wow, great stuff!! Not over extracted, incredibly balanced, hints of earth and stone, just an all over great wine in this price range. I wish I had 2 cases!!!

Nose: Garrigue, meat, white pepper and forest berries.
Taste: Pretty well balanced with nice orange like acids. It is mayby a bit thin taste, pehaps due to the rather weak vintage. The finnish has an ok length, but with considerable alcohol heat. The fruit is still there (red and blue forrest berries), there are hints of barrel and minerals.
This cuvee seems to be built for rather short storage, so after the two years in the cellar, this wine is ready to go. I will not save the remaining bottles for much longer.

Very nice, very well balanced fruit and acid, perhaps lacking a bit in structure, modest to light tannins. Excellent purity of fruit, soft but not flabby, though the body fades out a bit and the finish is fairly short.

Aerate to decanter, wait 30 min. Color not noted. Pleasant CdR with big dark seed fruits, garrigue, licorice, and black pepper on the nose and palate. Acid lower than expected, medium tannins are still rather youthful such that this will benefit from another year resting. Lingering finish where the licorice comes more to the fore. Excellent in terms of typicity, size, and being easy drinking, but I expected more depth and complexity given the producer and appellation. OK value at 22. Next bottle in perhaps two years.

Almost like a light port. Over medium bodied and a balanced mouth feel. Maybe too balanced... The tannines could be stronger giving it better structure.

Jeeesus, I was almost giving it a 90! Works fantastic with food, today grilled pork. The fruit, the acidity, the balance. It is a good one. Buy it. I do not work for them, I just drink the wine...

Second bottle, the verdict is here- we do have a new favourite wine in the pricerange - small bucket of coins. Will try the upper pricerange of the Janasse´s soon.

Ruby red clarity, strawberry nose with small amount of phenols and wood. Balanced acidity, not overly tannic. Simple and overall good rhone blend.
