This was drinking well at Christmas 2015. I wouldn't expect it to improve but probably has a few years of window remaining. It was rich and smooth despite the high abv if 16%.

Deep and rich with tobacco, spices, subtle oak, taking on some nice (balsamic?) notes as it ages. To my palate, this is very similar in style to something from the right bank. On night #2, cigar box and dusty tannins, really nice.

Sam's Club had this on clearance for 7.59 or something. I'm not really a merlot fan but this one is nice. Dark, with a some earth and tobacco on the nose. Ripe, but the fruit is not over the top, nicely balance with earth, tobacco, and light spice. Full bodied...16% alcohol on the label, but it is well hidden. Nice ripe round tannins. Drink up, at some point the alcohol may overwhelm everything else.

Dark opaque and leggy on the glass.Fruit is forward on the nose, hints of pepper. Good tannic grip, a little heady, not a great deal of complexity, but a good wine, would be fantastic with a hunk of parmesan or really old cheddar.

Merlot: With the dark garnet color aroma of pepper and blackberry, followed by flavors of chocolate and dark fruit, this was thought to be a big production wine or "americanized" wine.

This is pretty good wine. Very dark for a merlot, almost to the rim. The nose has a nice roasted blueberry, along with some oak. You can tell there is alcohol. Medium bodied. Layers of concentrated soft fruit that starts at the lips and continues all the way down. Very acidic, tasting and swallowing leaves a numbing experience on the tongue, roof of the mouth, and lips. This will probably age out, and along with the ample tannins, keep this wine fresh for a long time. Probably opened too young, this will undoubtedly flirt with the 90 point glass ceiling in a couple of years,

This bottle wasn't as nice as previous one. Quite acidic and alcoholic, and tasting like its best days were behind it.

Great color and a subtle bouquet. Very light tannins with a nice finish. Can not believe that you can get a quality Merlot at this price.

An exceptional merlot. Well-integrated oak, dark berries and leather, with a hint of sweetness somewhere hidden in the back.
