Super complex nose, dark berry fruit, cherries, notes of chocolate, intensely spicy - great depth. On the palate very mineral, spicy, quite focussed and precise. Fine acidity, lots of power, great finish.Excellent with some potential, but drinking very well already. 92-93(+)

Have read much about this wine and just the good. This is true! Outstanding wine! As good as many Burgundy wines. Light ruby color. Strawberries and vanilla hints on the palate. Wish I had more bottles:-(

First Italian Pinot I've had. Pop and pour on the recommendation of the sommelier at an Italian restaurant while waiting for the Borolo to open up in the decanter. I was not disappointed! I'm a big Burgundy fan, and enjoy a few Pinots from the USA, so I was very curious how this would compare.
The wine definitely has a closer affinity to Burgundy than to US Pinot. The wine was immediately accessible, revealing a nose with pleasing earthy, mushroom character much like good Burgundy, and red fruit with some florals. The wine was slightly more fruit-forward than most Burgundy with somewhat less acidity and minirality. However, the wine was very well composed and integrated, and the acidity was sufficient to create a lively character that carried the fruit forward with structure. Kind of like a classic Burgundy with a slightly modern twist, but 90% old-world. Tannins were smooth and silky with pleasant grip.
I was very taken by the wine, and would love to find some for the cellar!

Nose of caramel, wood and cherries. Very complex wine, quite modern but still a superb Pinot

Great Italian Pinot noir. This wine is great with Italian cheese and pairs well with light meals.
