Very big, a lot of Welches grape juice/jam, teeth staining purple, thick, lush, sweet, last bottle and I strongly believe it is near the end of its plateau at least based on this bottle. Still a pleasure to drink!

Dark opaque purple color turning violet at the rim with a nose of candied dark cherry, blueberry, and licorice. The palate is full-bodied with a voluptuous mid-palate that's wrapped around a velvety texture. Upfront, jammy flavors of ripe blueberry, plum, mocha and leather notes comprise the core. Finishes long, supple, and flamboyant with hints of spice and smoke. Wow, This is terrific! Drink now until 2018.

A smooth fruit bomb. Gave it the 'shake', poured into the decanter and held for about 90'. Blackberry nose and on the tongue. Smooth in the mid-palate, and a long finish. Very nice wine.

Very decadent. Fruity, really a fruit bomb. Heavily oaked and buttery. Does have a smooth finish. Less tannins than is typical for a Cab or a Syrah, maybe due to the merlot? Not my style of wine. This wine will not improve with time.

The wine is deep violet, with a smooth vanilla, plum, raspberry nose. Classic Mollydooker, high alcohol but well-behaved. Did the shake (not sure I'm doing the best method), and consequently all the copious sediments end up in the glass. I guess this is why they sell "fining" funnels, but I'd rather decant. I should shake then decant... anyway, it's a great wine and very versatile either by itself or with just about any food or dessert.

Mollydooker is one of those quirky wineries which screams out for your attention - whether it is the website, the story, the label or the juice itself - it is reaching out with open arms; if it were a child it would be a tantruming toddler. The label is quirky; a 1950's tribute that is extremely contemporary; whilst the name is typically memorable Aussie. Indeed the vineyard prides itself in other great names such as Gigglepot and Blue-Eyed Boy - great gift ideas...but I digress - marketing is superb - but what of the wine? BUT - before I can get to that - there is the 'Mollydooker Shake' - a unique way to serve the wine to artificially age the young wines. You pour the wine an inch in the glass - shake the bottle - open it to let in some air - and shake it again vigorously and then wait for the froth on your wine latte to subside. (By this point all your guests are suitably intrigued that the wine has won them over anyway!). Then you pour. I kept the inch of unshaken wine and will admit the difference is noticeable - the secret is dissolved Nitrogen being released - of course is this artisan or is it science engineering and should we care? The wine itself is deep deep red and you know you are in the presence of a monster - the tannins are not too prickly and there is a great mixture of flavours - certainly matching old world for depth and none of the artificial fruit that typifies many Australian shiraz. There is bramble, pipesmoke, spice - and there appears to be a lot of thought put into the blend (68% Shiraz/18%/Cab Sauv/14% Merlot). Great for the trendy wine connoisseur and have to say I am a fan though the RRP in the UK is a tad too high for the demographic I think they are trying to attract. '09 was a good year in McLaren Vale...I think the '10 may be better...

A medium plus body and a deep, dark violet hue is the first impression of Two Left Feet. The expressive nose has lots of blackberry, earth and vanilla. It's supple and rich in the mouth, bursting with dark berries and hints of spices. Very nice level of extraction. Should have used a micro filter as this bottle has already thrown a decent amount of sediment. A bit gritty, but my fault. It's a Mollydooker - should have known better that to just pop (I mean unscrew!) and pour. The finish has really good length continuing with the dark berry and spice theme, adding in a little oak and leather.

Big jammy liqueur of dark fruits and heavy oak influence. Nose of syrup and alcohol (seriously smelled like a cough syrup). The palate is more of the same and a medium finish. Let's just say you have to be in the mood and this will not pair well with food, maybe late in the eve by a fire.

Never having the 2009 of this wine I was concerned that it would be a bit young. I opened and let it breathe hoping to mellow it out. Our meal of apple smoked bacon wrapped Venison tenderloins, white radish, red radish and carrots hours old from the garden baked in olive oil, mashed potatoes and fresh picked salad needed a strong earthy wine. Since we had Mario and Myra over and I knew we would be drinking two bottles, I opened them both. The smell erupting from the bottle the minute I opened it was of berries, cut grass and dried flowers. Sweet but musty. I stole a small sip and knew we had a winner. The wine stood up well to the venison and root vegetables. Very earthy and almost “chewy”. As the evening unfolded, the wine continued to open up. A winner.

Unscrewed and gave it the Mollydooker Shake, decanted one hour. On the nose, blackberry jam and oak. On the palate, very sweet, fairly heavy, and with an oddly bitter and unresolved oakiness. Hot alcohol. I've had a good run of Aussie Shirazes that break the stereotype, but this one plays right into it. The Cabernet content seems to make this disjointed, giving an odd contrast. Pass.

Opened up slowly Ben after executing the Mollydooker shake. I agree that this is hollow in the mid palate, but very lush and alcoholic. Berry and chocolate flavors come out over the course of a leisurely glass.

The nose of this wine is filled with dark plum and cherry fruit as well as a chocolate oakiness and black pepper. The palate of this wine wine is quite good. There is tons of jammy dark fruit lik black cherry and plum. There is a very mineral coated chocolate oaky mid palate that finishes with black pepper spice and mor fruit. The alcohol is noticeable but it doesn't throw off the balance of this thick and juicy wine. I am a huge fan of Molly Dooker wines and I am a bit bias on the scores but this wine is wonderful.

There is a lot of promise in this wine. The varietals used are well balanced for being this young. I don't find the alcohol to be overly powerful, as the spice benefits from such heat. The aroma is to die for. Loads of dark fruit (blueberries, blackberries, black cherries), chocolate notes, and just enough oak. The "Shake" does open it up to enjoy more, but it was very nice from the pour. The second day brightens the wine up more, showing more red fruits, and toning down the alcohol a bit. Another year will contribute to the roundness of this wine, but equally enough to enjoy now.

I was expecting more than the typical big Australian Shriraz on this one, but in the end it was just that. The alcohol was a bit high, the tannins very soft, and it had a sweet vanilla finish. Good wine to have by the fire on a cold winter day, but not one to enjoy with a meal.

Black color. Concentrated aromas of blackberry & mocha infused plum. Medium entry of lush black plum & smoke with an alcoholic burn that invades the back palate & flames on through the finish. There is undoubtably great concentration, but also way too much alcohol in this wine.

Overall good wine, especially for the price- opened with the "Mollydooker Shake", then vigorous decant for about 30-60 minutes. Dark purple, inky color; dark fruit, some oak/vanilla, and a hint of earth/herb on the nose; big mouthfeel, dark fruits, oak, vanilla flavors, some tannin; moderate finish. A big fruit bomb like some of their other wines at this price, but a little more restrained than The Boxer I thought; overall very good, a fun everyday wine; for the price I like The Boxer better.

Ripe, fresh picked blueberry nose, with a sable- like color. Abundant, concentrated chorus of black and red currant, raspberry, graphite and a touch of mint. Surprisingly quiet nose with some barnyard and herbs. The palate is what I expected full of red and black fruits. Not an herbal trace at all. Some booze on the finish. As it tames and the nose develops this could be really good.

Short (30 min) but vigorous decant, then followed over three hours. Dark purple and black in color, with aromas of dark fruits, licorice, and vanilla. A short blast of blue and black fruits show on the attack, with currants, tar, dark chocolate, and oak filling in the palate. Dense and concentrated, this is a beast of a wine. Heat shows on the finish.

A relaxed and easy wine that still delivers excitement. Lots of blackberry and brambly notes with a sweet roasted brown rice effect on the nose. I think of sprouted brown rice with sesame oil. Cinnamon spice, oak, and pleasantly firm tannins round this wine out. Nice

Nice, well made wine but a little over the top with the oak monster showing up... Very dark fruits and oaky vanilla on the nose. Very full bodied on the palate with lush blackberry and plum with some smokey oak. Nice, lingering finish.

Nice

Wine Blogger's Conference 2010 - Opening Tasting (Wine Blogger's Conference, Walla Walla, Washington): Dark cherries, blackberries, and some interesting evergreen shows on the nose along with some heat. The blackberries are a bit on the simple side, but they are very heavy and accompanied by full oak and some heat.
