There's enough tertiary notes to make me think it's beyond its prime, but the tannins and acidicty make me think otherwise. Surprisingly it drink best an hour or two after opening. It's aged gracefully in magnum format.

huge fruit bomb, highly extracted. gained even more weight and meatiness after opening for 3 hours. this has a fruit punch cocktail thing going on that makes it even more over the top than a kosta browne. just gobs and gobs of racy fruit here, plum raspberry and tart strawberry.
my guess is 03 was a hot vintage. let me look...
yep. from snooth: "A warm year produced higher alcohol and lower acid wines that were much more immediately appealing than those from 2002. These are somewhat flamboyant wines that are drinking at peak today."
i could see this going another 10 years easy. ive found cristom's pinots to be very ageworthy.

After opening you could immediately smell tobacco and smoke on the nose that softened with time and by the end a hint of raspberry. The same quality on the palate. Very nice wine that has held up nicely in the cellar.

Much improved from the previous bottle - probably at it's peak. Very attractive blue fruit on the nose, which carries through to darker fruits and plums on the palate. Well integrated tannins.

Spicy cherry blackberry, blueberry, plum, vanilla and mineral w/ clove and cinnamon, very spicy in a good way, drank half of it before my blackened salmon arrived

Poured from bottle. Very Burgundian. Lots going on here - Im holding my last bottle for a couple years before opening, as I think it will benefit the vino. Aromas of wet stone, sweat, mineral and dark fruit on the nose leads to palate of massive fruit, minerals, some spice and vanilla on the long finish. Seemed a little "hot" - I think time will raise this wine to a 92 or so. I think the tannins are well balanced. I also think decanting will aid the wine if you must drink it now.

medium bodied. 14.5% alc. blueberry on the nose. on the palete, i picked up a lot of earth/mineral/leather flavours -- think Burgandy. Well balanced. The wine is still quite tannic, and can definitely rest for another 2-3 years.

Earthy, leathery nose with a slight vanilla sweetness. Initial bite of acidity and tannins, which smoothes out with the deep cherry fruit. It holds up well being open--we drank 1/2 in the restaurant and 1/2 at home the following day. I agree with another poster that the tannins will probably even out with time. There is a lusciousness to the mouthfeel and a richness of fruit that will help its longevity.

This was one of those nights to enjoy the Pinot varietal to its fullest. This Cristom followed the Firepeak offering and held up well following a surprising and great wine. This wine with a familiar label was a Cuve'e from the Estate vineyards Cristom owns. This wine portrayed great balance and character with a nice silky mouth feel. Not overly fruit-driven but very lovely tones of deep red fruit with nice acidity and smooth tannins. A great bottle of wine for the price....a great bottle of wine, period.

Dark ruby red. Not decanted. Initial nose somewhat muted with dark cherry and spice. Within an hour opened up considerably to also show leather, earth and strawberry to add to now more intense cherry and spice (nice). Palate was a little disjointed with acidity and tannins overshadowing the fruit. I suspect this will come into balance with time. Finish was a little short. Overall quite pleasurable.

Earthy, smokey, sweaty nose. Nice balance and lots of powerful fruit. An excellent Oregon pinot that is very fairly priced.
