Sadly, the last of six bottles... PNP, EXPRESSIVE nose of red fruit, tobacco and hint of oak. Front of the palate is red fruit and vanilla punch but the fist lands covered in a velvet glove that softens the blow. It's thick and soft on the tongue and melts away over 30 seconds with a nice tannic kick. This wine is really good and a GREAT QPR...wish I had more!

Pnp...What a bargain this is! Deep rich layered fruit, medium + body, sweet round perfect tannins and a 30 second finish. Thought of complaining about lack of secondary notes and complexity but this is a $21 wine without a decant or air time. What is has, it has in spades so let's not dwell on what it doesn't have. Wish I'd bought more.

This was an excellent buy from WTSO. Have tasted several bottles and all have been stellar. Beautiful black cherry with ample polished tannins that keep the mountain fruit in balance. Great steak wine.

Drinking well. Nice tannins, long finish. Black cherry, dark fruit. Dark and inky. Good oak. I think this wine is in its drinking prime right now. Loved it.

Nose a bit tight but reflects sweet dark fruit. Full body, with rich dark fruits on the palate. Quite lush and dense, with black currants , licorice and black cherry and a touch of vanilla. Not juicy but well balanced with some tannins and spice on the finish. Hard to say what a couple more years would do for the wine since it drinks well now, but I can see it getting a bit smoother to the mid palate with softer tannins on the finish.

Deep red with a violet rim. Plum and creamy vanilla on the nose. Hints of tea and almond also. Great mouthfeel. Fine tannins. This is a beautiful wine! Classic Napa Cab without the big name price. Nice.

Funny little wine here -- not overwhelming in any sense, but put together seamlessly. Fruit-driven, with nice chewy fruit tannins, and just enough of everything else to make it a star. Really nice QPR. One you want to have to open when you want something special but doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Nice finish.

Surprised by how well this drank with just an hour decant. Nicely balanced, classic profile. Mountain fruit is there, but it doesn't bust the doors down. More time..

Not quite ready yet. Still a bit restrained on the nose. Front end shows classic cab dark fruit, but not as expressive as some 2007s. Mid to back you can tell this has good bones and solid weight, but I think this needs another year or two to develop before it shows well. Tannins more soft/chalky than rough/rustic. Similar issue to the 2007 Honig Cab, where the 2007 is too young, but the 2005 is amazing. If I were picking a 2007 Napa Cab to drink tonight, I would go with the Clos du Val over this, but I am really looking forward to revisiting this in a couple of years as I have a feeling this is going to be a real joy when ready. Bought from WTSO.
