Aromas of cigar box, espresso mocha bean, and blackberry, sweet vanilla spice and ripe plum. Easy enter on the palate with the acids holding up and in balance with the fruit. The tannins have mellowed out and likely indicate that the peak is now or just past.

Fruit subdued; too much tannic tension, which didnt resolve much after 1-2 additional days open. Certainly nothing unpleasant, but a below average QPR.

A lovely merlot with grace and balance. I wish I wasn't so pre-occupied when I drank it though. I agree with those who say the mid-palate is a bit awkward. The nose promises more than what is delivered, but it was very enjoyable altogether. I don't really think I'd go any higher than 91 on the score.

Concur with WineDoctore's notes on bouquet and while I loved the palate as well, I didn't get the same grip in the middle or complete roundness on the end. Stayed a bit too flat and hot for the 13.7% by my reckoning. That's what kept me to a 91, still an outstanding score and an incredible QPR. Will hold my other two a little longer to see what happens.

very deep ruby color in glass. long legs with every swirl. the nose offers up complex notes of cloves, sandalwood, cassis and white pepper. On the palate, polished blue and dark fruits, very delineated, even more than the Estate Reserve Merlot of the same vintage. good follow through from midpalate to finish. Overall properly balanced, round with silky tannins. Unbelievable QPR here for this terrific wine!

I agree with Klaas, recently went to the tasting room and this winery had one of the best top to bottom line ups I have ever tasted. All estate Red Mountain fruit and most of their wines are about $30, might be the best QPR in the state of WA. Loved it!
Woodinville Wine Tasting (Woodinville, WA): Wine #4, paired with an apple and onion tart, with gruyere cheese. Lots of cherry fruit, cola, and some vanilla oak. This is Merlot!

Another bottle I won at poker at OCP4W, I think I picked Chrisinsunnyside pocket again!!! LOL Good news, the guy buys in with great wine.
This wine was firing on all cylinders, I didn't take a detailed note because I was at dinner with friends. My new rule, no notes at dinners.

These are on the decline since I last tasted, unfortunately. Lost some considerable structure. Still delicious though. Drink up!
