Wonderful stuff. Light, flavorful. In a world of fruit bombs this is a nice change of pace. Has a complexity and enough acid to keep it lively and interesting. You could drink this all night. Decent cru Beaujolais can be purchased upon release for $15. If it is given a few years of bottle age it can become an excellent bottle and a tremendous value.

Drinking dates for this wine are totally incorrect - not only is it not past its drinking window (it is suggested that it is best enjoyed by 2013), it's actually still a bit too young. An unrecognisable beast to its lowly (and utterly characterless) brother (Village Beaujolais), this surprised me with its medium-bodiedness and flavour profile. Purplish-tinge and slight blueberry nose, it was a bit too coarse and vegetal for my liking on day 1, but had settled down into something a bit more approachable by day 3. Wish I'd ignored the drinking dates on this website and held onto it for a few more years - it could be quite interesting by about 2016-2017. Won't be investing in another bottle, though - it's just not good enough to worth worrying about.

Still going strong, paired nicely with a traditional Thanksgiving feast. Developed some tannins with a little air, which lengthened and improved the finish.

Lovely bright red fruit aroma, slightly floral. Cherry, strawberry, raspberry flavors, with some tannic bite on the back palate. Opened up and showed its best after 30 min.

My last bottle and consistent with my prior note from October 2012. This has held up very well. Lots of tangy plum and black cherry fruit, along with some savory and herbal notes on the finish. Drinks like a very good Cote de Nuits Villages. 50+5+12+16+7=90

Tasty floral and cherry nose. On the palate this shows good cherries with very nice acidity and almost no tannins. Quite tasty and much more open then "la triniquee" from few nights ago. Very nice with baked chicken dish. 87-88

PNP. Color garnet. Nose shows dark plum and hint of orange rind. Swishing reveals significant structure (mostly acid) and mild tannin. Sipping shows smooth fruit structure balance and med finish. Finish gets a little stemmy at end. Really good stuff.

Had this with rosemary chicken and was pleasantly surprised. Has an attractive Gamay nose, with lots of dark fruit and some pretty floral and savory notes. Very Pinot-like on the palate. Plenty of black cherry fruit with just the right amount of acidity and a nice, chalky minerality on the finish. Shows wonderful balance. I'm not really a Beaujolais fan and drink it only occasionally just for a change of pace. This was a nice change of pace. 50+5+12+15+8=90

This one is ok. A little lighter and much less memorable than the rest of the Duboeuf lineup for this vintage, but easy to swallow for the price as an everyday drinker..

Floral and fruity nose of mixed red berries and cherry, a touch of bubblegum, fresh acidity and a medium finish with rounded tannins coating the whole mouth. This Is in great balance and although the tannins may leave the party in a few years, i think this is wonderful just now, with fruit, acidity and structure. Not sure its worth waiting any longer, right now its got everything you may wish in a beaujolais.

Giant Wine Sale & Tasting 12/3/2011 (Cellar on Greene, Columbia, SC): It was nice to get a chance to taste this. It gives us a chance to remember how consistently good these Gamay based wines are year to year. There is nothing extraordinary here, just clean, fruity, juicy, smooth, well made wine. Beaujolais has it's own classic color. The nose is just like standing in a flower garden, nest to a strawberry patch. All kinds of red fruit like strawberry, black berry, black currant, even some fresh peach. Not particularly complex. Little or no oak influence. There is a grainy minerality on the palate. Minimal tannins. Quite elegant and very tasty. The finish reminds me of the flavor of biting into a fresh plum.

Saturday Walk Around Tasting at the Gourmet Shop Columbia, SC 6/18/2011: In a tasting of several excellent 2009 Beaujolais, this one was the most elegant. Just as full in the flavor department as the others, this one has a softer, more feminine feel. The nose is almost incredible with the floral tones of several different flowers. The fruit profile is so seamless and complete with most of the red fruits we taste in wines. Very nice integration for a wine so relatively young. You almost can't discern the alcohol. Not very tannic. Almost perfect acidity. A little bottle age will only make it better. I am becoming a Beaujolais fan again.

Maybe this had gouleyant or it was just kind of oddly sticky on the way down. Smelled and even kind of tasted vaguely of bubblegum. Will try again but came in with vintage hype that didn't materialize

Wow, this is a butter bomb, both aroma and taste. A bit of darker fruit (blackberry?) on the taste as well, but the butter really dominates. It is actually a pretty easy drinking wine, though. Had this over two nights, and it was better the second night.

Very young. Could probably use another two years in the cellar. Yeasty with macerated strawberry.
