  • This started pretty closed and surprisingly thin for a grand cru. A bit tart. With a couple hours of air it opened up and some deeper brambly fruit emerged. Given that this isn't Domaine, I'm not sure this will ever become grand. But I think it will improve with another 5-10 years.

  • Appeared to be a negoce bottling given no "domaine" marking within the label border. Rather simple showing at this stage, and reasonably approachable, but showing mostly just a core of black cherry fruit with a bit of polish, making for a clean, ripe Pinot but missing that Gevrey meat spice complexity at this stage. Upside from here, even for the negoce juice, I would guess.

  • The Verticals Tasting at 2023 La Paulée (Eventi Hotel, New York): Pale red. Some brett. Light to medium body. Earth first, then dark red fruit, and a dry, tannic finish. This does not have the charm or balance of the 2015.

  • Dinner at Hermosa (Chicago, IL): Nice, but probably in a bit of a weird spot right now where more of the structure shows than anything else. The fruit here is obfuscated by more oak than I would expect from Jadot. What fruit I could pick out was definitely quite ripe though. Can only imagine upside from here.

  • Really outstanding red Burgundy.

  • Bright ruby color. Sweet red fruit on the nose with a bit of oak. Same on the palate, good balance, with a fair amount of extraction, yet without the 'gamey' aspect that I usually find with the wines of the commune. That being said it blossomed in the glass over the evening, suggesting a decant might be needed. Long finish. Great wine with the hallmarks of the warm vintage.

  • I won’t rate. Should have read others notes and first waited and second decant. Muted nose and oalate but enough to suggest the future is bright. Unfortunately alas, unless I find more I won’t know if the wine will evolve nicely.

  • Still tight, needed 3hrs in a decanter before it started to open up. This needs time to evolve in the bottle, in a good place but isn't singing yet. Consensus of the group is that this has the potential to be fantastic.

  • Error- Written about 2010 of the same wine- Drunk with a 2009 of the same wine. Before I say anything i really like Jadot chapelle wine and will confess may prefer it to their clos de beze but what do I know. Soft but rich on the nose and very rounded -
LoveLy. Very clean and balanced on the palate. Really very good wine. The 2009 tonight was singing but both wines were simply stunning. A real privilege and definitely a BUY. See write upon 2009!!!!!

  • ..... I’d prefer not to say anything but how good!!!!!!!!! This is a stunning wine. Drunk with a 2010 of the same wine and for the first hour the 2010 won out - nicer nose and softer on the palette. Otherwise all the same fruits etc. After an hour the 2009 simply sang. Cleaner both on the nose and palette, it’s structure is lovely. For the long term the 2009 (on the basis of these bottles) has years ahead and may well improve. That said, both these bottles were lovely and definitely within their drinking window. The negociant domaine wines can be great (relative) value!!!! Well done Jadot I am a buyer!!!!! Drank a Ponsot Clos de la Roche 2011 on Wednesday - which was beautifully refined - and the wine tonight has more depth, strength and potential. I possibly shouldn’t compare these wines but the Ponsot is 3 times the price. Madness. Anyway I’d suggest keeping for a few more years but if you can’t wait then tuck in, you won’t regret it. Really impressed tonight

  • Appearance: Bright and clear, the wine is of light ruby colour, with fading rim and legs.
Nose: Clean, with medium (+) intensity aromas of red fruit of raspberry, cherries and plum, kernel notes of coffee, mineral notes of earth, oak notes of toast, sweet spice of clove, maturity notes of savory. The wine is developing.
Palate: Dry with medium acidity, the wine has medium tannin of ripe and silky texture, medium in alcohol, medium body, with medium (+) flavours of red fruit of raspberry, cherries, and plum, oak notes of toast, animal notes of cured ham. The wine has a medium (+) finish.
Conclusion: Very good quality Gevrey-Chambertin with an intense nose showing good complexity, with its coffee note particularly outstanding, the wine is well-balanced, with good structure and elegance, with good concentration on the palate and a fair length on the finish. It is ready to drink now though can benefit from further ageing of another 3-5 years.

  • Light transparent red. Barnyard and a bit of stinky cheese at first on the nose that blows off quickly. Strong milk chocolate notes with raspberries and vanilla bean. Tart tannins with raspberries and a bit of integrated dust notes. Pleasant.

  • Light red-brown. Bubble gum, black tea, and red raspberry jam on the nose. Crisp, delicious mildly sour red raspberries, umami, very pleasant.

  • Jadot 2009 with Vinunic at Mitt Kök: Good wine, but not really what one would expect for a grand cru. Not closed down, but one dimensional, with warmish fruit, some spice and not much structure.
