Friday Night Double Blind Semi-Mondo $80+ (Bin 75): Pale crimson with pale rose rim; cranberry, orange peel, spice, clove, real sour cherry, green note that's well integrated, cinnamon, spicy, Asian spice; snappy red fruit, cranberry, rhubarb, sour cherry, strawberry, spicy, sappy, high acid, leaner fruit, long finish; delicious, should improve a touch with more time.

Northern Rhone Dinner (Pavillon & Grillet) (Roswell, GA): Man we were spoiled tonight, raided the cellar and found this, might be too young but it really strutted its stuff; bright crimson ruby; nose is classic masculine Clos Vougeot with sour cherry, fine chalk dust, and had an immediate impact with its nobility; the palate was wiry and taut with red fruit and structure that packed a punch, fairly primary but you could see the potential, well made wine with a very hands off approach; really liked it; need to get some more, 94+.

I thought this was a touch oxidized; maybe heat damage? I wouldn’t expect 08 chezeaux to have such pruney notes.
