ABV: 14.0%. I've never had a Chilean Pinot Noir with this kind of bottle age (approximately 13-years-old) and I was very impressed. The nose was somewhat muted upon opening, but slowly opened up after about 45 minutes. What caught me off guard was how lively this wine was on the palate. Despite the lack of bouquet, this wine is a party in the mouth with herbs, spices, red fruits, and good acidity to keep everything lively. In addition to the impressive mid-palate, the very legnthy finish took this wine to another level, leaving an exremely pleasant mouthfeel that entices you to take another sip. I think this wine could actually use a few more years to iron itself out so feel free to decant it for a little while before serving.

Silky, earthy, black cherry, supple cranberry, and lovely acidity with a long finish touched by spice which mingles with the acidity to make this an awesome wine at any age.

Apparence rouge fraise écrasée, assez dense, légèrement voilé. Nez ouvert, framboise et pâte grillée, épices. En bouche, les notes fruités rivalisent avec les notes d'élevage de pain grillé. Les tanins sont discrets et intégrés, le vin se boit aisément, malgré un taux relativement élevé d,alcool. Excellent rapport Q-P

Wow ! aucune continuité dans l'appréciation de ce vin. Des qualités inégales des bouteilles ou une mémoire et une sensibilité défaillante de ma part ?... Très ouvert, bouquet de framboise rouge et de framboise noire avec qqchose d'une feuilleté au beurre. En bouche c'est vif, continuité des arômes perçues, plus des saveurs animales, cuir mouillé un peu foxé l'étable par temps humide... pas du bret ! Un peu de sous-bois. C'est étonnamment complexe et long et ... bon. Excellent rapport plaisir-prix. À l'aveugle je confondrais certainement pour un haute cotes de nuits pour son coté animal et sauvage. Très heureux qu'il me reste 3 autres bouteilles en Cave. Il est certes à son apogée, je tenterai tout de même de conserver une bouteille 2 ans de plus. La note tient compte de l'excellente valeur.

Apparence limpide. rouge coquelicot avec disque plus clair (rouge écrevisse). Nécessite un peu de temps dans le verre pour dégager des arômes de fraises et de pain grillé. En bouche, saveur de tarte aux fraises et de noisette grillée. Certaines caractéristiques de crus Beaujolais. En comparant avec mes notes de 2011, évolution du goûteur ou du vin !?... Bonne valeur.

Lighter red color. A little hot when first tasted but smooths itself out after half an hour. Lacks that varietal Pinot smokiness. Pleasant but probably not worth the price.

Couleur rubis pâle, apparence limpide. Disque mince et ocre. Premier nez: Réglisse noire et framboise Deuxième nez: En bouche, une attaque assez vive avec des saveurs conformes aux arômes perçues. Une amertume qui me rappelle les friandises très (trop ?!) fortement anisées ou la sensation du cassis frais sans sucre. Une finale marquée par le boisé, plus chêne américain que français. Je me dois de reprendre plus attentivement la dégustation de ce Pinot noir qui, exception faite de l'apparence, ressemble plus à un Syrah au nez et au gout !

WES - Pinot Noir (LSE Holbourn): Medium intense. Quite garnet. Not so bright. (hic) alcohol dominated nose. Spice, pepper and almost black fruit. Rich, fruity peppery palate. Better balanced than the nose would lead you to believe. Warm finish.

From the wine list at Ristorante El Mestizo, in Santiago. Remarkable difference to 'west coast norm': this is not a fruit bomb. Cherry in the nose, but also woods, forest floor. Solid, but unspectacular wine. Absence of sweetness a plus. Too dark for a visual. short finish.
