Caveat: Viogniers and I have a very uneasy relationship. Very mixed feelings about this one. The nose is delicate but lovely, with nice, soft floral notes and a little hint of lime zest. But the flavor has issues, notably an unappealing bitterness in the finish. It is nicely balanced, but the finish is hard to get past.

K&L Rhone Tasting (K&L, San Francisco): Oily nose, palate lacks acidity and comes bitter and odd. I've never liked viognier.

2009 Rhone New Releases (K&L Wine Merchants, San Francisco, CA): Some honey, apple, spice, oak, creamy mouthfeel. Very low acid, strange bitterness in the finish that was distracting, some heat. Found to be quite unbalanced.

Early Release 2009 Rhones (K&L Wines, San Francisco): Pale. Faintly aromatic. Light, some perceptible sweetness. Not much to it, but at least what is here is well balanced.
