Dense dark fruit core, huge tannic beast of a wine with a tight nose influenced by Viognier. Needs plenty of time for assertive tannins to come into balance with the fruit. Hold till 2018 at least, then retry.

Really interesting wine - very complex and savoury.
Some subdued cherry and apricot from the viognier on the nose, but really the quite lifted perfume is dominated by savoury elements - mushroom/truffle (a friend said unami), tobacco, barnyard, beef stock. Coffee aromas come up over time and swilling too. Interesting.
Savoury palate too. There's some cherry and apricot there buried down below, but mushroom and charcuterie are the main game, with some spice in the background. Low oak input. Really like the texture of this wine - silky but substantial. Long flavours. In the perfect drinking window.

Drank this at Extra Space @ Boon Keng for a Syrah tasting session.
When opened, this wine presented with a nice bouquet, perfumed nose.
On the palate this wine is gentle, with ripe cherries and a clean finish. The alcohol level is kept in check by the acidity, with a tinge of sweetness.
Has probably 3 to 5 more years in the cellar to go, but enjoyable as it is now.

Fairly evolved at this point. Color is turning brick and the structure is rounding out a bit. Clean, sweet, cool-climate fruit, perhaps lacking a little freshness for a wine this age, but abundantly present. Good amount of acid lends to a slightly tart, long finish. It's in a nice place now. Enjoyed it.

Enjoyable but perhaps overplayed - very evident viognier on the nose and the palate but the cool climate peppery shiraz does provide a nice counterpart - nice acidity and some length but it's all about the counterpoint between the two grapes really - a guilty pleasure perhaps.

Only mid-red, the nose is a bit quiet/reticent at first- some bright raspberry, mulberry notes, just a hint of apricot from the Viognier. Slipper, medium bodied palate, some fuzzy (Viognier?) grape tannins. Good balance. Long finish.

Here's to the end of dry July! Exquisite nose. Violet, strawberry, blueberry, and earthy barnyard - sweet but complex. Medium bodied, a little acidity for structure, tastes cool climate, sharp and fruity. Lovely stuff.

(feeding lisa) Characteristic shiraz nose of dark leather, black pepper and barnyard pong. Cool sweet fruits (dark berries, plums, cassis), great intensity, lifted up with tall viognier florals. Energetic, elegant wine, cool focus, and incredibly savory - brothy Brand's chicken essence, and ending on a sustained loamy finish with some black-tea coolness, even slightly minty. Restrained, and not excessive at all. Fantastic food wine, pairing well with out over-parmesan'd risotto. Yums!

This is a lovely perfumed wine drinking at its peak. Very supple on the palate with the presence of the Viognier apparent.

Great wine. Savoury notes intermingle with elegant but full shiraz flavours. Medium to full body overall.

Bats well above it weight. Great wine. Savoury flavours dominate but the V adds a nice sweetness. It works well.

Dark crimson. Dark fruit. Very smooth palate, light acidity, lots of dark berries. Long clean finish with smooth tannins.
