had this for Thanksgiving dinner and was the last bottle of the night and I think for most the wine of the night. great fruit and still enough to hold itself together. agree with the almost port like nose comment and the link to burgundy. I have one more bottle and will not wait much longer to enjoy it.

Browning on the edges, with almost a port-like nose. This was a sad, stewed wine that reflects the worst of the vintage. No heat on display, which was good, but the fruit was really overripe and amorphous. Overripe plums is the best description I could come up with. The last Southern Rhone 2003 that I have: good riddance to (often but not always) bad rubbish, as they say. I should have drank this on the younger side, as this is not improving over time (C).

Seems quite mature. Red brown colour. Prune or stewed fruit flavour. Badly stored bottle, hot vintage, just this wine? Nevertheless, good drinking. Let's see what the next few bottles bring

Drank alongside the 2004. My preference was for the 2003.
Decanted for 3 hours. Full bodied with strong, structured tannins, very indicative of the vintage. Baked fruit (as mentioned by a previous reviewer) definitely comes through. Powerful, but not over the top wine. The wine continued to become more complex and evolved over the course of the evening. Long 30 second+ finish, which lacked on the 2004. Still drank nicely the next day.

this is part burgundy, part elegant side of CDP. dark ruby/purple, slight bricking on the edges, tart & sweet red cherries w/ herbs. good concentration, and although drinking nicely now will last another 5 yrs.

Complex, perfumed nose. Lots of black and red fruit. Medium-bodied and lively on the palate, with a really long, spicy finish. Although it probably has several years left, it is in a really great place right now, and I would not wait. It was actually more impressive some 18 months ago. Some sediment leading to cloudyness at the end of the bottle.

Top stuff. Decanted it well in advance. Lots of sediment. Tasted a bottle 2 yrs ago and it was a little raw and young; now smooth and long but with a delicate touch to it. Will be drinking in the next year or so.

Superb wine. I'm sure it will improve with age, but it is really great now. Perfumed nose. Blackberries and black cuurants. Lots of fruit and spice with a really long finish.

Medium red with brown edges. Very ripe nose of baked fruit. That's about it. Drank alongside the very good 04.

Tons of fruit left. Velvety texture and delicious on its own or with fruit. Drink it!

Occasional tasting group: Extensive Southern Rhône tasting with some extra's. (@ PVa): A pleasant little bit of barnyard. Smoky and spicy. A very elegant wine. Very pleasant drinking now, but no hurry.
