Fairly exceptional for a $5 bottle of wine - as other posters indicate, rather fruity and sweet. That said, it's $5 and, comparing it against other wines in the same price range it is an excellent value. Makes a good wine for the hot tub, non-discriminating guests (i.e., the good kind of guests), or for an inexpensive wine for a work week meal. My initial impression of the wine is that it's basic but smooth, fruit is immediately noticeable on the palate. Back palate is clean but unremarkable. I'll keep a few of these in stock for guests.

Legends Wine Club: Not a whole lot to it. Blackberry, cherry, spice, and vanilla, a bit flabby and not much structure. Still, at it's pricepoint you can do worse. You can also do much better, but you can do worse. This wine was almost "fresh fruity" enough to have been a Beaujolais Nouveau! Not a good representation of a cabernet sauvignon, but I can see why their target audience enjoys it. 50+5+9+11+4

Plonk, but decent plonk. Has some varietal character, a bit of oak and fruit, not much complexity but adequate flavor, short finish. Improved with a bit of air. Paid only $5.99 for this, and it's better than most wines at this price level.

I had this on 5/16/09. It was very simple with black currant and burnt toast on both the nose and palate. It wasn't very good, but it certainly wasn't terrible either. I wouldn’t buy more at any price.

A little concerned when first opened, but after an hour so there was pleasant improvement. Nothing really special, but an ok cab for the price. Just don't expect too much.

My wife and I thought that this was excellent for the price. We found it very smooth. I would consider it a semi-dry wine. It has a fruity flavor with a hint of sweetness. I would buy a case.

Overpowering alcohol and vegetal funk nose (as mentioned below), not getting much fruit. Thin mouthfeel but vegetal funk lingered. Improved a bit with an hour in the decanter but still right in line with other similarly priced Cal Cabs. An average food wine, though I've spent more for worse.

Embarrased to even score this wine...but I have to admit it was better than average considering the price. I did not like the bouquet at all, heavy alcohol and vegetal. The initial taste was awkward but after warming and opening up it was pretty good for $7 on a Monday night watching CSI Miami!

Considering its sub $8 price tag (at least locally) this Cab is excellent for the price range. It has an earthy taste with decidedly strong fruit. I have tasted Cab's at 3 times the price that weren't as good.

Good for the price (4.99). My go to cheap wine. Fruity up front, slightly dry oaky finish. Not a showstopper but a decent cheap wine.

It was not bad, with some red fruits and a little acidity that did not make it overly cloying.

Unremarkable, unstructured, way too fruity for a cabernet. However, makes a decent "house wine" for $5-6.

Lots of fruit, a little too sweet, and not much structure, but very drinkable for $6. Would definitely buy again at this price point.

Not as fruit-forward as I expected. Pretty oaky. Undistinguished but drinkable.
