Compared to the 1993 Dujac CDLR, I found this less precise on the nose. On the palate it is very smooth and clean, but not particularly dense. 93 maybe 94

Two 91 Clos de la Roche side by side; Leroy and Dujac. Both were in the very good category, but not great. I preferred the Leroy, mostly a stylistic preference, but the table seemed split. A tough night to be a "very good" wine, as we danced with perfection a few times this evening.

Eleventh Annual White Truffle Dinner (Chez Weber - Chicago IL): Popped and poured. Big differences of opinion on this wine amongst our group tonight. I found the nose very alluring with spice, mature red fruit and some perfume. Palate certainly had less overall appeal, and could understand some thinking it slightly tired and drying. But the aromatic charm had already won me over at this late hour.

Surprisingly mature showing. Lots of varnish on the nose and palate. This bottle retained plenty of nice underlying dark fruit but I couldn't get past the varnish.

Very light in color with brown on the perimeter. Nose is soft and tiring: subtle spice and floral note with no real fruit character. Very soft mouthfeel and not much surviving fruit or tannin character - in short this seems about 10 years older than it is. A pleasant wine but one would expect much better. NOTE: After discussing with a friend who shared this bottle, we believe that it endured a slow-cook and is not a reliable representation.

Pure red fruit, precise spice, and great clarity. Great balance and depth for a CDLR. Performed better than the 93 served alongside
