Another encounter with this impressive wine. Melted butter, saffron, yellow stone fruit, candy floss and spices on the nose - exuberant, rich, concentrated. On the palate again quite rich and powerful - good acidity, nice mineral core, but a little flabby at times. Impressive length. Slowly drink up. 92-94

Premature Oxidation. Apple, butter, marzipan, some tropical fruit, plenty of new oak. Juicy, mouth watering acidity, spicy, almond, a little sherried with some custard apple. FLAW

Golden clear colour. Nose offers up nectarine, pineapple, white pepper. Rich palate but amazing cleansing mineral acidity.Excellent long protracted finish.

Tasted after the 2009 C-M 1er Cru La Romanée, this is less open and charming, very layered on the nose with notes of spices, ripe fruit, flowers, crushed stones. On the palate fresh and lively but very dense and concentrated. Generous, creamy with underlying minerality and a fine, very persistent finish. Still a little tight. Excellent and approachable, but probably best to wait. 94-95+

Golden in colour, rich and buttery and floral on the nose with notes of ripe yellow stone fruit, hints of caramel with more air. It needed quite some time to open up. Lots of richness on the palate, layered, powerful and very long. Good acidity. Big but excellent, too young. Hold. 92-93+

Up front, exotic and a very tasty drink. There were some pineapple aromas coupled with ripe peach and crème brulee. It was rich and fruity in the mouth with good volume and outstanding length.

The color was deep gold. There was a definite floral bouquet. the wine was nicely balanced with fruit, a hint of cream, mild citrus and a touch of oak. compared to other Batard Montrachet's I have tasted this one did not seem particularly special. The enjoyment was compromised by the fact that the cork crumbled when I tried opening the wine. It took about 20 minutes to extract the cork and then filter the wine to rid it of cork fragments. I expected more

Stunning bottle of Batard. Wonderful mix of fatness, beautiful citrus fruits and racy acidity. Everything in perfecy harmony. Super wine.
