Carmenère, known as the “Lost Bordeaux”, has perhaps the most intriguing story of any grape variety. Exploring it on the web will not disappoint and neither will our 2014 REININGER Carmenère. Its crimson color, with long glistening legs, allures the nose into a descending feast of wild earthy aromatics of dark wet earth, cracked peppercorn, rare tenderloin, plum and mushroom that eventually all evolves into a more refined state of dry-loamy soil, white pepper, black raspberries and dark chocolate. The flavors mirror its refined aromas while gently riding on a shear-silky texture possessed with a sophisticated, somewhat racy acidic attitude and soft-round tannin structure. Be forewarned, not everyone can handle this love affair." – Chuck Reininger, Winemaker
