Appearance:
Deep crimson with purple hues
Aromas:
Intense spice and pepper on the nose combine with rich berry aromas
Palate:
Rich fruit flavours of black cherries combine with firm tannins to provide a full-bodied style with great length on the palate. A well-balanced wine, consistent with the classic Hunter Valley style of Shiraz.
Cellaring:
Careful cellaring will see this wine develop beautifully over the next 7 – 10 years.

The historic Steven vineyard was planted in 1968. Ever since the red volcanic soils have produced some of the Hunter Valley’s most outstanding wines. This 2011 vintage is a classic Hunter Valley shiraz, with great fruit, spice and elegance. A medium bodied shiraz that will drink well as a young wine but will reward those patient enough to stash it away for another 10 years.
