Have to agree with other tasters, excellent now, don’t see this getting substantially better over the next 3 - 5 years.
Opened and decanted about 45 minutes. First taste upon opening was good but not impressive. After 45 minutes, excellent and impressive; smooth, rounded with lots of complexity and kept improving over time, just didn’t last long enough (the wine, not the flavors). Had with grilled ribeye and baked potato and 70% dark chocolate for dessert.

2016 Blair Fox Syrah Kimsey Vineyard

Just drank the second of the three I purchased just over three years ago. If you're a fan of old world styling in new world wines then I think you're going to like where this wine is right now. No, it doesn't quite have the flavor provile of a Cote Rotie but it defintely has the charateristics of an old world wine that is aging amazingly well. The tannins have softened nicely, not fruit driven, but still a full bodied amazinly balanced wine. I am a HUGE fan of Blair Fox Vineyards, especially their Syrah's, and this one definitely shines.

I think the wine may be in a bit of a dumb phase right now as I’m not getting much on the nose or on the pallet. Fortunately I have a few extra in the cellar and I will let them sit for a while before trying them again. Not rated at this time.
