12/29/2016 1:26:00 PM - Hello I would like to discuss your bottle of chateau recougne 1990. Is it possible to talk please let me know

8/24/2016 10:37:00 AM - Hello, Ian. We bought about 4 bottles of Voyage 1 and did not take the opportunity when offered Voyage 2. Honestly, It has gotten better over time, but the wine has more earthy/musty tones than I prefer. It is very pricey and I would personally prefer to use that amount of money on other wines. I houseguest recently shared a bottle of Voyage 1 with us and he loved it. There is a wine for every pallet.

8/24/2016 5:30:00 AM - This is Ian, former tasting room manager over at Willowcroft. I still remember our first conversation (back when you first got me on Cellar Tracker and Last Bottle) about the hard-to-get red schooner. Saw your review of voyage 1 but I was wondering: have you had the chance to try voyage 2 or 3? These wines are up there in price for me, and so I don't just want to go purchasing 3 bottles each willy-nilly without some input. So your thoughts on them - if you have any - would be most appreciated. On a unrelated note, was perusing your cellar and noticed the 2007 JAQK Cellars Shiraz *Soldiers of Fortune* bottle. This one intrigues me, and after a bit of searching, I found that it's hard to come by. The '07 vintage seems all but sold out, but there's an '08 out there. Any thoughts at all about this one too would be most insightful.

2/26/2013 8:25:00 AM - Burgundy is a strange animal...I've been exploring for the last few years and I'm still searching for that "Aha!" moment. I've been collecting a few 1er Cru and even from Grand Cru wines...but those won't be ready to open for another 10 years. And that's the problem with good Burgundy; it takes forever before the fruit, acid and tannins to come into balance and even then, you may simply not be a fan of the other characteristics that usually accompany (barnyard, petrol, etc). Oh...and did I mention they can get extremely expensive?
