This is the first Patricia Green I have ever tried.
Slow ox for 4-6 hours and enjoyed with family in the backyard with dry rubbed pork ribs off the grill.
Dark brooding cherry, smoke, and bacon nose. Tastes of cherries and other red fruit, more of that bacon (almost candied), and some vegetal notes. Quit soft and not quite as focused as I would have guessed from what I have heard/read about her wines. It wasn’t exactly out of balance, but it lacked a strong acidic backbone.
Really enjoyable - especially with the fare and company - but not the 'AFWE' experience I expected.

PnP over 2-3 hours. This was a steal at $20. Probably close to the edge in terms of age, but showed so well.
Slight browning/bricking.
Closed nose at first with a strong menthol note - not promising - but it evolved quickly to reveal clove, tomato, basil, black fruit, cedar, and smoke/bacon.
Tasted of some red fruit and more smoked pork, but those were complemented by secondary flavors of leather, cedar, and pepper.
Acid medium and fully resolved tannin led to a medium-long finish.
Glad I have another.

Slow ox for 2+ hours. Medium/dark ruby color. Nose of cherry, pepper, light bret, and a little hot. On the palate strong red fruit and high alcohol. Medium/light acidity and gripping tannin. Fairly long finish.
The heat on this wine threw it out of balance for me. I have liked a lot of 2008 CdP because they tend to be approachable in their youth and tend to have more subdued, elegant profiles than the 07, 09, or 10; but this wine was anything but approachable or subdued.
