A rich, carmine color, with nice legs (14.7% ABV). Plenty of Sangiovese fruit on the front end, with greater than expected slight bitterness on the back end. Acidity and tannins are under control and not unpleasant. Short finish with no particular attribute to either admonish or exult in. 89 points may be generous but the wine is drinkable and will work well with pasta and marinara sauce!

As a kid, growing up in the Willamette Valley in Oregon, we played around making juice from an abundance of all the summer fruits that grew wild and domestically. Out of the bottle and into the glass, This (sort of) bordeaux blend sure looked a lot like wild blackberry juice, with a ring of very purplelish bubbles on the surface and the appearance of blackberry jam for color (unrefracted), and crystal clear, rich, dark, black cherry, when viewed against background light. Alcohol is evident in the nose, not surprising with a 14.9% ABV content. Low acidity and smooth tannins make this a delightful wine. Strong black cherry flavors with a moderate finish.
