Purchased at the Chateau in 2012 (although there isn't a Chateau on site) during a day tour of Margaux and stored in my wine fridge. Not decanted, but I did use a Vinturi wine aerator to open it up. Nice garnet colour and aromatic nose but not powerful, cherry and licorice. Smooth palate, tannins have faded away, with some fruit there again cherry, red fruits and a hint of smoke. A longish finish. Overall a delightful well balanced wine that has stood, for this Cru Bourgeois, the test of time well.

From magnum with dinner and friends. Colour strong with black fruit nose. Smooth on palate with the dark fruits there good body and some length. Still has plenty of time ahead

As expected a thin wine when poured but with a nice colour that hasn't really faded. A surprising nose of tempting fruit and reminiscent of many Cru Bourgeois I've drunk, so a good start for this Bordeaux Superior that you might have thought would have seen better days at 7 years old! The palate was smooth and well balanced with dark fruit and a surprisingly lingered for a moment which was unexpected. There was some sediment evident on the glass from storage, and a reasonable amount in the bottom of the bottle which again I hadn't expected from a wine of this quality, however, Chateau Siran does in my opinion produce very good wines so I'm less surprised!
