  • 2020 Climat Frais Wines Pinot Noir

Very old world on the nose. Sous bois and earthy but vibrant cherry fruit aromas. Reminded me of D’angerville style, but more morey st denis…yet the wine is from the new SLO coast appellation in central coast California!! Cool climate gives a crunchiness to the cherry and strawberry fruit. Nice finish and easy to drink. A little more cerebral than fruit forward but delicious nonetheless. Final blend by Raj Parr, and he usually knows what he is doing. Well recommended and great QPR

I didn’t believe it till I tasted it. Blinded you would think Le Montrachet. Green golden straw colored. Perfect coloring. Medium to full bodied and RICH. Stone fruits, oily white flowers and rocky minerality on the nose. Acacia, sweet white peach and flint on the palate. OMG this wine is soooo good. The only limiting factor for 97-98 for me was a little bit acidic and thin on the finish. But that’s just me. Smarter people than me ranked this 98+ and i totally get it. Highly recommended. What a treat. Cheers

  • 2003 Château Suduiraut

Deep golden honey hue. Excellent texture and mouthfeel. A little “thinner” than I like and one of the reasons d’yquem is always 100 when others are 96. I believe this wine was scored 100 by the pros and I can see that but tonight it was just a little flat to me. Explosive aromas of white peach, honey, apricot and caramel. It was delicious and everyone’s glasses were empty within a few minutes. Great choice by Ken Fredrickson. Highky recommended and top of the line QPR

5/27/2023 3:25:00 PM - a note on Raveneau followed by by a note on Apothic. Brilliant! Nice score on the 2014 Bolly LgA. I would have bought more, but left a few for my brethren, and left a few on the shelf.
