3/17/2014 8:02:00 PM - Now this really is interesting! I have bought a half-dozen bottles of Pegasus Bay PN most vintages since 2006, and the 2008 and 2009 (which I currently have unpacked in the cellar) are definitely both 14,5% alc. I haven't yet tried Pegasus Bay's premium "Prima Donna" PN bottling, which is said by the German importers (Keller Weine, on their website) to have 13,5% alc. Could this possibly be the wine you tasted? Provenance: Although I live in Germany, I usually buy NZ reds in the British market (for some reason the German importers for e.g. Pegasus Bay charge more than $10 per bottle over the UK market value).

Is it conceivable that you are confusing this with a white Pegaus Bay wine? "Grapefruit/citrus character" doesn't really sound like Pinot Noir to me... (Re: Pegasus Bay Pinot Noir 2009)
