Opened at a wine dinner alongside 2009 Pavie and 2010 Pontet Canet. The 09 and 10 Pavie were pretty similar, this review could be for both. If I were to pick one word for the 2010 Pavie, it would be "massive" and that may be an understatement. It's dense, coats the mouth with layers upon layers of dark fruit, licorice, chocolate, and earth. The finish goes on and on. I know the 2010 is still an infant, but I just couldn't help myself. Do yourself a solid and try with a medium rare "Pittsburghed" ribeye. Oh, and make sure you decant this bad boy for about 3 hours.

We did a blind tasting between the 2016 and this 2018, and they are very similar. Blackberry, plum, medium+ body, concentrated, nice nose, perfume, with some earthiness. If stored properly, I think it should last 10 years or so. Retout continues to have a high QPR. For $20-25 out of Bordeaux, it's hard to beat. Agree with Sasori, it's young. Decant for at least 60 minutes, preferably more.

2016 Mouton Rothschild is perfect. Really. I'm not going to try to write some eloquent composition. Instead, I'm just going to just let the descriptors flow. Saturated, black fruits, black currant, truffle, chewy, layered, complex, great texture, fresh, taste the dust bunnies (minerality), beautiful tannins on the finish. I opened and decanted 3 hours at a blind 2016 Bordeaux vintage party and the Mouton was a show-stopper. Served with aged gouda, soft gouda, dark Ghirrardelli chocolate, and smoked brisket.
