Juuuuuust okay. I've had pretty rough bottles from this producer before - mostly full of VA - and this one was on the edge. Really high-toned, bordering on screechy red fruit, with a bit of bretty funk on the nose. Palate is a bit better, but slightly dilute and very short. Even though it's only approaching a decade of age, the fruit seems to be falling off and is already slightly dessicated in a not-entirely pleasant way - it feels like it's already on the downslope. Wouldn't wait much longer. Ultimately, just not delicious.
I know Roblet-Monnot is getting some good press lately and maybe the wines don't travel well due to their low-intervention way of doing things, but colour me extremely skeptical.

2014 Mount Eden Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon

This is drinking very well - it's lovely and elegant with the savoury, sous-bois character nicely framed by a solid core of dark red and purple fruits. A really nice mineral/crushed rock streak runs through it from start to finish, too. You could keep it for quite awhile longer if you wanted more of the the botanical notes to come to the forefront, but I feel it's really quite balanced now with just the right amount of grip.

2021 Ridge Three Valleys

Some of the tasting notes here are...something. This is a lovely, completely-in-the-wheelhouse Ridge Zin blend that shows the pedigree of the winery. There's delicious dark red & purple fruits on the nose with a touch of crushed rock and white pepper-y, smoky spice notes. The palate is surprisingly lithe and lifted by bright acids; more of that cherry coulis on the palate. The American oak comes off more herbaceous and green (in a good way) than dill or coconut, as there's plenty of fruit here to absorb it. Some pebbly tannins to bind it all together, give it structure and a bit of aging ability - this could easily go 3-5 years but is enjoyable now.
