12/11/2014 2:45:00 PM - Estimated Andtheodor, In origin, Etiqueta Blanca (white label) was a 'Crianza' rather a 'Reserva' As you said, EB disappeared in the middle of the eighties. They, Murrieta, decided to make this wine no more. Probably the main reason was the difference between EB and the Reserva wasn't really significant in terms of time in oak. In fact, and this is my personal view, a 'Crianza' had not enough category for a winemaker as Murrieta was. In any case, if you're interested on buying any EB take care of fakes and look for an excellent vintage imported by a trustable distributor. Cheers!

Could be unfavorable Euro/Dollar exchange, too, we're getting back to the point when it was really bad some years ago.

Are you buying it from the same source? $40 is more like wholesale cost than retail. $65 would be a high but possible retail price. It's sold out in Connecticut and I don't remember what wholesale was last time it was in, but it's possible that the 95 from WA encouraged a price increase.
