Might be the single best CdP I've ever had. An experienced taster in our group was convinced this was Northern Rhone Syrah, which is a high compliment for a wine with this much Granache. There is no heat. There is no glop. Remarkably layered and classic, and cascades like the last ten pages of a great thriller. I want more of this.

I love Clape, and this happens to be a low-ish score for me on this wine. Because it's great. But there is something vaguely out of place here. I've tasted - nee, drank - this wine twice this year, both blind. Everyone loves it, as it's finally opened up. However, it lacks the bootprint of Cornas that it always seems to carry. That could emerge with a bit more time, as this wine stitches together even more. It's not a silly, overdone, modern-style wine. It's just a little polished for this lover of Northern Rhone Syrah.

Quite simply everything that great Bordeaux at age 25 should be, and with a tad more intensity of aromatic and flavor, it would rate even higher.
