This was a perfect of balance of fruit and tannins. When I opened it I poured immediately. The first sip seemed to have some tannis. Also present were enough fruit to cover the tannins. It is over the hill and it was my last bottle.
Lots of sedement. Cork came out easily with an Ah So. Color showed some lightness around the edges. The signs of a wine well over the hill were not present.
The most remarkable nose was about two hours after opening it. I smelled definite plums. There were telltale oriental spices as well. It had many light but interesting odors which I did not record.
If it had not been well cellared for nearly forty years it would have been long gone. Enjoyable.

Decanted some immediately. Lipid with rich red color. First smell: old leather, predictably closed nose. First taste, full with good tannins. Opened up after an hour to be voluptuous and flavor rich, berries (especially blue) and cassis.
Let it sit for a couple hours. Vanilla, oak and delecate spices in the glass. Stirred it and got a whiff of grass hay.
Lingering taste, with a good finish.Complex wine with a bit of sedement. I would estimate it has a few years left.

Immediately upon opening showed signs of being close and tannin overpowering the fruit. As it oppened casis, blackberry and a slight offputting appeared. Later Liquorish (anis) oriental spices opened up. By two hours after opening ti was mellow round and supple. Color past garnet as it shows signs of being fully or slightly past fully mature.
