This wine was one of my greatest pleasures in recent years. Beautifully aged, remarkably smooth, and not at all 'old-tasting'. It lasted a week sprayed with argon, and only improved just a little. The fruit was still there, and definitely oak. A taste only achieved with age. There was magic in 1982. Alcohol is 11.5%.This is not a misprint, but an homage to the exquisitely balanced wines of the past.

A delightful surprise several years after I acquired it. Beautiful fruit intensity-cassis, cherries, oak-and the merlot is evident, and maybe the 2% cab franc. The first night it had a mouth-watering acidity, but not afterward. Still smooth, intense, and delicious, and surprisingly did not detect the 14.9 abv at all.

A pure pleasure, enjoyed with good friends who are serious wine lovers. The first impression was: smooth, supple, and rich. Nose and flavors of cedar, tobacco, gorgeous fruit, and cassis. Dark red, very slight browning, almost opaque. 12.5% alcohol, thank-you-very-much! We drank it over two hours, and while I was half expecting the common decline to spoilage, this beauty only developed more smoothness and intensity. This is the joy of well-aged Bordeaux.
