My first wine from this appellation. Wonderful acidity, light spiciness up front turning into ripe pineapple, finishing with a touch of honey. Very happy to drink it.

It's fine, nothing to write home about. Tastes like something you'd get if you went into a mom and pop restaurant in Portugal and asked for the house red.

Really enjoyed this with salmon and grilled sweet potato medallions. A bit funky (in a good way) and tight out of the gates but settled into an interesting mix of somewhat lean tart cherry with a green edge and an old-worldy mustiness that comes (I think) from its age and the lack of fining. Never got the expected sediment from the final pour but could definitely see it suspended in the wine, giving it an uncharacteristically dark color for a pinot. The presence of the sediment caused to to have a dualistic mouth feel: the fruit profile and just-right acidity typical to a good pinot seemed to be wearing a fall jacket that gave it a rustic, fuller overall presentation.
Seems to be squarely inside a great drinking window at 8 years old. Would be curious to see where it goes from here in 2-5 years.
